wow!for once the service lived up to the advert-instant response to emails requesting help-fast to sort out a problem with my payment and discount for already inexpensive specs-after trying some frames at home via freepost i saved £429 -LITERALLY!the frames i saw in my opticians on the high street for £229 -the exact same style for £45 on direct sight-so with the 40% discount i bought 2 pairs for £29 so i got my regular prescription and my closework specs for one payment of £29!!!unbelievable!ordered them and they were here within 48 hours-after 50 years of wearing specs and paying HUGE prices for frames i shall never buy anywhere else-direct sight is ACE!!!
On Monday I received my order and I just wanted to say that I am very happy with my glasses and also the customer servise I had. Whenever I emailed customer service they always replied promtly (even on a Bank holiday!) and they were always very helpful. My order came safely and on time. My glasses were very good quality and feel confortable and the price was very good. If the quality of your products, the customer service and the low prices remains that good, then for sure I will be ordering more things from them and I will be recomending the site to friends and family without hesitation. Please keep up the good work and thank you for the excellent service
I always thought you could only ever buy glasses from an optician. I never imagined I would buy glasses online. How wrong was I! Direct Sight are a revelation. The choice of frames offered by Direct Sight is fantastic, greater than any shop on the high street. And the service was reliable, efficient and easy; they responded to my email queries the same day! And the prices are incredibly reasonable (I don't know how they do it). Then the glasses arrived and they were as I'd hoped and expected, and fitted perfectly. I can't imagine buying glasses from anywhere else now. Fantastic value and great looking glasses. Thank you Direct Sight!
What an 'Eye-Opener'..(no pun intended..)! I have a complex prescription and have always used an expensive High Street optician for my Eye Test and to buy the glasses. Having got a very thorough test from them, as normal I was ushered to look at their expensive frames which with my prescription would start at £350 for one pair. I have ordrered two pairs from Direct Sight - one 'Designer' style and a second more discrete with a tint to use as sunglasses and they have both cost me half the price of one pair!! You really should try them if you want to save a lot of money and still get the product you need (and more..)

Pros:
Eventually the glasses turned out all right and were reasonably priced.
Cons:
The first pair I ordered had the wrong prescription (by far, I could not see a thing), and the edge between the frame and the lenses was extremely poorly cut (the lens was sticking out the frame)
I returned it to get it fixed. When I asked their customer service about it, they told me I had to pay for thinner lenses if I wanted a better result
(Which I could have believed, if my glasses from specsavers of the same lens thickness did not look perfect.)
They also said they will tell me what happened with the prescription once they get the results from the lab.
After a series of emails I agreed to pay an extra fee to upgrade, as I didn't want the ugly lens cut, once the results are back from the lab, explaining what went wrong with my prescription.
They finally told me that my pd distance was incorrect (to which I replied that this is an utter lie, as the prescription was dramatically off, and that I still wish to go ahead and upgrade, if they now get the prescription right which I doubt they will)
A minute later I received an email that my glasses have been dispatched!
They said that it wasn't clear what I wanted, so they send them back to me!
When asked why did they proceed with returning me the glasses whilst having an ongoing conversation with me, I received no reply.
Fortunately, the prescription was now correct, and the cut of the lens was actually all right, so I didn't take the matter further, despite my frustration.
A few months later I ordered two pairs of fully rimmed single vision sunglasses from their own range.
They took 2 months to be delivered, I send them 3 angry emails asking where they are (first one a month after my perchance) to which I did not receive a SINGLE reply.
Eventually, the glasses turned out, and again, they look fine!
So the moral if the story is that you should buy from them if you are NOT in a hurry, and you have a lot of patience in dealing with their appalling customer service. They will never admit their mistakes, and will never apologise.
When the frames turn up, they are usually a good deal and quality though...
I ordered 3 pairs of prescription glasses from DirectSight.co.uk having been extremely disappointed with other glasses ordered from another online company.
The frames for my tinted prescription glasses are of really great quality and having now used them for driving a long distance can say they are perfect for my needs.
The other two pairs of glasses I purchased after having taken advantage of the "try before you buy" service offered and decided to go for two types of frames slightly different to my usual choice. They are both again of great quality and fit beautifully.
The customer service rang me before proceeding with my initial order as they wanted to clarify my new prescription which greatly impressed me.
I shall definitely be recommending this company to my friends/family with complete confidence.
I'll start with a positive. DS are cheap and their response to emails was prompt and informative.
I ordered my frames on the 5th of March after two months of waiting I gave up and cancelled my order. Note I said 'frames', you cant try designer frames you have to order them then return them if they're not for you.
Two months for a pair of glasses with no prescription is pretty silly. When I asked about my order I was told they were having issues with their Italian suppliers. Which is funny because their website said the frames were in stock. However, I cant read minds and had to take them for their word. But after two months I could no longer wait and cancelled my order. They promptly refunded me.
However, I found the same frames on a different website which also uses an 'Italian supplier' and they arrived in under a week. Make of that what you will.

Mixed feelings. I was very excited once I ordered my Tag Heuer 0844 because I have always been a huge fan of Tag Heuer. After waiting from the 13th of February until the 1st of April the glasses finally arrived. Unfortunatly they were the wrong ones whoch looked completely different to what I had ordered. So I sent them back. Then a few days later I got an email confirming they had receved them and were sorting out the lenses. After those 3 days of sorting out the lenses they had sent them off. To my suprise they had sent them to the wrong part of the country despite having my adress. After having the glasses sent back to them so they could send them off to the right person they finally got hear on the 8th of May. I am extremely pleased with my glasses but as much as I love the product I would not take the risk going back. Overall thank you very much and great email co-operation and friendly staff who are very useful.
I don't often complain, but having read many of the positive reviews on this website, thought I would share my not so positive experience and give a balanced view of this young company (was only incorporated in Jan 2012 - so how someone below can say they have been using them for two years is beyond my comprehension)
I ordered my Tag frames on 09 February 2013. After 29 email exchanges, with Helen, the friendly customer support agent, promising me they would be delivered "by the end of the week if not, early next week", or "problems with the manufacturer" or, "now in production", I lost the will to live with constant promises being broken.
Curosity got the better of me when I saw the same frames advertised on their website as being "in stock". I initiated a chat with the online sales person (Sian) - copied below in it's full glory for all to see if the answers I was getting from Helen were consistent:

SianTis is available and it comes from our supplier in Italy. We ask to allow 7-14 working days for single vision and up to 28 working days for rimless, varifocal or bifocal. They are usually completed well within this timescale
ClientThanks - are there any delays in the manufacturer supplying these frames currently or in the past?
SianThere can be delays of which we would inform you of. This can happen with any designer frames due to production times
ClientThanks - can you be more specific on the supplier of these frames in particular? I do not want an undue delay if i order the frames if I can avoid it.

Ahah ! no delays - so why a delay on mine? The website says they are in stock too...Did this have something to do with my 60% discount voucher ???
So I wrote to Helen, and kindly promised to, " take my case up with the Trading Standards, and simultaneously lodge a complaint with the petty claims court (for breach of contract). This will serve to raise public awareness of your less than satisfactory customer service if nothing else.")
Low and behold, i get a message back the very same day to say my glasses have been produced and will be despatched the next working day !!! Viola !
Moral of the story is, threaten public humiliation and raise public awareness. Helen, please be a bit more truthful, ask your owner/director not to offer discounts if you don't intend to honour them and don't over promise....
Glasses turned up next working day, and seem to be fine. Was it worth the hasstle and headaches (not least as i was without correct spectacles for over 7 weeks (which i made Helen aware numerous times))? I'll let you judge.

What I like about this company is that it offers a try before you buy service on frames (sadly not designer frames though). Having a small selection of frames to try out on yourself unhurriedly at home and to have time for friends and family to comment on is so helpful and reassuring. How many times have we hurriedly chosen frames in a crowded opticians without a friend or relative to comment and without being able to see the frames properly, ordered them and then hated them (or worse still others dislike them) when we have paid hundreds for the finished product!! Ordering from DirectSight is easy, communications are good and value excellent. Only problem is they are so good, you'll want to order several pairs.
Glasses are fine but had to wait several weeks for second pair. Ended up ringing a couple of times.

I ordered some Raybans from Direct site and was very impressed by their quick service. I called to ask for advice on delivery times and the lady I spoke to was very friendly and helpful. I then made my order online and my sunglasses arrived a few days later.
I'd recommend to anyone and the prices were one if the cheapest I could find. Definitely will be using again!!
Tried two hometrials after DirectSight said this wasnt a problem and found a pair I liked. Ordered them and was advised another pair were available for free! It didnt have to be the same pair so I was able to choose another pair I liked from the home trial for free. I was also issued a 20% off voucher for a minor delay on the first home trial - all of this added up to excellent value. The process of adding the prescription was simple and I've now got my new glasses which im delighted with. First class service that i'll recommend and use again. Nice.

I have a relatively complex prescription which has led to mistakes from other companies in the past, but directsight got mine to me in perfect order way within their delivery timescale! I'm amazed considering that I've paid so much more before at other places!
The glasses themselves are sturdy, good quality stuff and they came in a nice little case which is handy! :-) I'll definitely be ordering again in the future.

There is a huge range of frames, available in a number of colours. The choice of lenses and coatings are fantastic value for money. My order also came very quickly. I would recommend Direct Sight to anyone.
Its my second order from direct sight and once again i found the service very good.
This is the third time I have ordered from direct sight and each time it has been simple all the way through I would recommend direct sight to anyone.
I ordered a sample pair of frames from DirectSight as they worked out so much cheaper than from any of the high street stores. So pleased, so ordered a pair of varifocal glasses.They provided great service and were really supportive.
After a long wait for the glasses I was so disappointed in the quality.
Firstly one arm became week in about a week then the nose pads fell off.
When I called the help line to complain they said the glasses I have ordered were OBSOLETE and they don't do them any more.
I sent them back for repair (at my expense) and they sent them back exactly the same.
After reading other reviews I decided best to keep them as they only give halve the money back .
I agree with another reviewer funny how a bad review is immediately followed by a good one!!! Beware be very aware.

I'm sorry I didn't read these reviews before ordering. I am now seriously worried the the glasses I ordered will not be of good enough quality. I ordered them on 13th March and have not arrived so far. Emailed help and Helen replied almost immediately (so assuming she's not in the UK, as it's 6.30pm) saying it had only been 18 working days and they asked for 28. That means I have another two weeks to wait, making 5.5 weeks since my order. And given what I read here my headaches will probably only get worse both physically and metaphorically once they arrive.
I have ordered many pairs from optical4less, who are in Singapore, over the years and all have been high quality and none have ever taken this long. As a pensioner, I am stuck if they are no good as I can't afford to lose the price of the lenses. Wish I had done more research and am now seriously worried.

The order number above relates to an order for two new pairs, which were ordered early Feb and dispatched 26th Feb. So far so good.
Despite many enquiries I still do not have the other pair. The reasons I have been given are inconsistant and variable so it is very difficult to asses whither I will actually ever get them, it which case, as an organisation, they are no longer a good price option.
Despite being reasonably satisfied with the price and quality, (I have also had three pairs reglazed), I would not use these people again. They obfuscate and delay, whither this is down to their business model or simple incompetence I do not know. As I intend to do no more business with them I will never find out.
Update 21st April and guess what...I'm still waiting for my second pair. Off to trading standards next week!
Update 11th June. I am still waiting for one of the two pairs I originally ordered. They've got them wrong twice. So, ordered early Feb, still waiting. Beware.

Bought CK frame with varifocal lenses. These lenses are so poor - very limited vision. I can't even read the the text on the computer screen.
I have had spec from Boots with the same prescription without any trouble.
Now I have to return to them at my expense so that they can check the precription.
It is a painful experience.

I ordered two pairs of glasses and when the first pair disappeared in the post the made me another pair straight away, no questions asked. The glasses look so good that all my friends have been asking me where I got them from and to let you have up to four pairs to try on at home is so helpful. I'm very impressed with their products and their attitude.
Pleased with the product. The customer service is brilliant.
I would fully recommend the product and the service.
I ordered my new glasses with the Platinium super packeage for the "thinnest lenses available" on the 18th December 2012, they finally arrived on the 9th Feburary 2013.
Only to find the so called Thinnest lenses available were twice as thick as my Specsaver ones, 5mm against 2.5mm, which had the same perscription and size of lenses.
So I returned them because I thought the wrong lenses had been fitted, only to be told they were the correct "thinnest possible lenses" but they could send them back to the lab to have "the thinnest possible lenses" made thinner !!
I get them back 8th march, the lenses were slightly thinner but at the expense of the perscription. I can't see through them now.
I have been told they will try putting more lenses in, or give me a refund less the price of the lenses that were clearly wrong, but I have to pay for their mistakes / incompetency. and after reading of the problems people have getting refunded, I suspect I will have the same problems.
Don't risk your eyesight with these clowns.
