I chose lyca based on their apparent cheap prices both on calling internationally and their free 300 MB internet per month. I have an iphone and soon got surprised to realize that not only was all my data used up in a time slot of only four to five hours, but according to what I was billed for I had used an additional 600+ MB of data! With a normal data usage of around 200 MB per month this got me quite surprised that I should have used this much data in only a few hours! (What I did do in the few hours was to check when the train was leaving and check my mail once plus got a IP call with a duration of less than two minutes)
I tried to look at their homepage if I had missed something, for instant I know that some companies charge a minimum usage of ie. 100 kb per session. However their page said nothing about this, which in my understanding should mean that the actual usage should be what I should pay for!
After a lot of calling to Lyca I finally found out that each session, no matter how minute it might be, charges a minimum of a staggering 1 MB! Since this information is nowhere to be found, I wanted to be refunded for my overcharging, however I got told that this was impossible, it was my own fault that i had an iphone! All this was told by a very rude customer service employee!
I would never recommend Lyca to anybody, it will only leave you with a bad taste in your mouth and no credit to use when you are standing in De Bijenkorf trying to get in contact with your girlfriend!!!
