So I decided to order from Chillblast after hearing positive feedback regarding their services. After talking to 2 very nice employees (Thom and Ben) I was given sound advice on making a few amendments to my specification, one of which was to include a Noctua NH-D14 CPU cooler (one of the best air coolers on the market). Admittedly, I had reservations about this cooler as I was concerned about a potential DOA due to the sheer size of this cooler, however I was reassured that this would not be a problem so long as the courier handled the package with care. I went ahead with my order, spending over £2k and was told it would take between 7-10 days for the delivery to arrive. They kept to their promise, and the system arrived within 10 days, much of the time dedicated to the "build and test phase". The product arrived via DPDs next day delivery service (very good tracking system), with the box intact and no sign of damage on the outside. Upon careful removal of the well packaged box, a further inspection revealed an offset Noctua CPU cooler with some mild radiator damage. This problem was withotu doubt caused by the box being thrown about whilst in transit (not common) and was NOT the fault of chillblast. I contacted the company via email and received a prompt and polite reply along with an apology, offering one of three choices: (1) Return the system for a CPU cooler replacement + full testing (2) Replace the entire system by building a new one (3) bend the cpu cooler back into place myself, as the defect was purely cosmetic due to soft copper pipes. I was pleased with the first two choices. The team over at chillblast have now ordered a new system and will dispatch within the next 5 days, picking up the old system on the same day.
EDIT: the delivery has taken 10 days due to ?faulty part. I was kept updated. The system is in the same condition as before - a bent CPU cooler. Chillblast offered a full refund but i think i will call it a day. =)
Wanted a good custom PC manufacturer. Did some research, found Chillblast, read the excellent reviews and can now see why they were good. "Built" PC on the excellent website, phoned in to check my chosen combination would work, spoke with very helpful Technical support, placed order and picked it up seven days later.
Even allowed my Dad (who paid for it!), my son Harry and me to look around their Factory. As a semi-literate computer person, had to have my hand held to explain a few technical things when we got home (brilliant Helpline again!) and now everything perfect.
After shopping around other company's I put a build spec into the Chillblast site & they opened up a dialogue about my requirements, which were not for gaming just a good fast & efficient machine with a good monitor. We agreed a spec and price and the end result is an excellent system which is both fast & quite in operation, I have only had it a couple of days but from start to finish this company impressed me. It may be early doors yet, but with the warranty, knowledge & reputation of Chillblast I feel I am in good hands.
I hadn't heard much about Chillblast until a friend brought them up during a conversation about buying a new PC, so I decided to check them out and I was sold by past reviews and the numerous awards they had achieved.
So after browsing through their selection I decided to go with their 'Fusion Cannon' build, for the hardware included I found the price to be very reasonable. After clicking that 'add to basket' option I knew the tedious wait would begin; but I knew it would be worth it!
After eight working days the package arrived, complete with an "extremely fragile" note reassuring me that the courier had taken care of my new PC; I had read a few reviews saying that their product had been damaged in transit so naturally I was anxious. After removing the sleek PC from it's box there was no sign of damage, it was pristine. Without hesitation I set everything up and turned it on, no problems at all.
I've had this computer for a week now and it's been a great week indeed, it continues to serve me well! If your looking for a PC Builder and want value for money with no cuts to quality then look no further, Chillblast will see you get exactly what your looking for!
Spent many weeks before Xmas looking at various PC's. After much searching around came across Chillblast. Easy on-line sight to choose your own specifications. Even better I found that their office is just down the road to me so was able to collect myself. Bought a keyboard and mouse as well from them but unfortunately I had problems with the keyboard. Rang them this morning. Took the keyboard with me. No problems swopped for another. Very kind and courteous. Will certainly recommend this Company to anyone looking for a new PC. Forget about "PC World" - You can get better customer service and most importantly a better specification of PC with CHILLBLAST.
When my PC finally arrived after several weeks, I began setting it up immediately, then I realised the VGA socket was covered over with an odd sticker that read "disabled - please use socket below". Confused, I called up the technical support line - who were not very friendly, nor very enthusiastic about helping me - and was informed that apparently a DVI-VGA adapter was required, something which Chillblast had not bothered to include in the original package, and instead I was expected to purchase myself online at additional cost.
The PC itself is average for the price.
Not really sure how the company has recieved such high acclaim - they aren't people I'll be doing business with again and I'd encourage others to go elsewhere.
I ordered my new desktop pc in December 2013, the machine was hand built and arrived in 14 days (they do a lot of testing before they send it out, which is a good thing!). The machine runs beautifully. I would recommend going for a SSD (Solid State Drive) as well as a normal hard drive as the pc loads windows in just 13 seconds! Most programs Word, Quark, Photoshop etc takes 1-5 seconds to load. Truly amazing. It makes working on the computer a true pleasure. Well done Chillblast. Also these guys get so many awards for PC pro magazine etc - I will be recommending them.
My PC is: Intel Core i5 4570 Haswell Processor 3.20 GHz, 120 GC EVO SSD hard drive, 16gb ram, Windows 7 Professional 64bit etc (Chillblast Fusion Commando Haswell Family PC).
I began my desktop hunting journey in my local pc world in kettering. I had a rough idea the sort of specification that I was after and spotted a couple that would probably suit. I was aware that certainly on the high street, desktop sales had reduced due to sales of various tablets so I was expecting to be jumped on by keen sales assistants striving to boosts desktop sales. My usage was quite clear games and music production, I could not justify spending the current asking price for the new consoles just to play games, so I needed something that was able to pack a punch in both areas as my current system could barely handle worms 2 and a simple rendition of twinkle twinkle. I stood in pc world hovering around the desktops and no one came. I stood there for longer and still no one came. Eventually I gave up. If they could not even be bothered to ask me what I wanted then I was not going to buy from them. I then began to investigate a few online retailers and found quite a few some appeared extremely good value for money and offered a higher spec than pc world. Chillblast was among these and was certainly not afraid to advertise their awards specifically for desktops. I was slightly put off chillblast to begin with as their prices appeared higher than the others. What I was to find out later was that the difference in price accounted for a massive difference in the quality and types of components used. I emailed a few of these retailers, some never replied, some sent me a, "I can't really be bothered so I will just copy and paste off the website email" but chillblast was different from the start. The initial email was clear, constructed specifically to what I was after and provided the details of the sender at the bottom. So I decided to phone Alec and Ben who explained fully each component, why I would need it and the difference between their systems and the others I had seen for a cheaper price. Without this knowledge I would surely be changing the components of the machine within the year, which I did not want to do. Then began a number of phone calls to Ben and several emails. Every call was answered and the advice was clear, never the hard sell but always clear and justified reasons why I would need a certain part and what I would need it for. Every email was replied to from Alec, Ben and Thom very quickly, I am still to hear back from some companies. Without dragging on, the whole experience was a credit to chillblast, I could not have asked for better customer service, the update on the build stage and delivery was perfect and the product is fantastic, I can now play worms 3 and twinkle twinkle has never had so many tracks.
Part 1 of 3 - 8th Jan 2013 Today I purchased the above laptop from Chillblast. After extensive emails to a few providers of high end 17' laptops I decided on the Messiah. Ben was the sales rep who dealt with my many emails without any fuss and answered all my questions over many weeks. After finally choosing Chillblast I purchased my computer from Tom in the Chillblast offices who was very pleasant and patient with me as we went through options. So it's 5 stars for everything up to and including the purchase of the laptop.
Part 2 of 3 - 15th Jan 2013 Have this morning received my Chillblast Messiah. It was delivered by DPD in a nice big protective box 7 days after I placed my order. I was able to follow it's progress from the building and text phase on the Chillblast website to the delivery of my laptop on the DPD website, so much so that I could follow the vans route through London on it's way to me. It arrived exactly when they said it was going to arrive. Having read other reviews on the trustpilot website "delivery" was an element of the process I was worried about but, I can honestly say everything was perfect from DPD (though I haven't opened my box yet!). Now on to the most important part. My new computer!
part 3 of 3 Two weeks later and the laptop is utterly brilliant. The graphics card runs superfast on ultra graphics settings and is not loud at all when the fans kick in. The screen is super clear and is extra good when combined with the Blu-ray player and/or the ultra graphics. Keyboard has a firm, sturdy feel to it, back lit and programmable. Takes a bit of time to get used to the "American" style half size enter and shift keys on the right but it's not a big problem. I didn't want a flashy shell so the design suits me perfectly, in fact I'd call it classy rather than flashy. Just a subtle "chillblast" logo in silver on the lid. If I had one criticism (and I think every review should have at least one) it would be the speakers. Loud enough sure but the quality is tinny and a little poor in comparison to the rest of the system which is a shame. Overall, outstanding system and outstanding value for my money. I am so very glad that I chose Chillblast and The Messiah.
I dealt with ChillBlast in January 2014 while looking for a new computer.
I contacted their sales email and was greeted by a member of staff named Thom. He helped me through the full process and stuck with me over a period of a week, answering my every question straight away. Their team helped me with everything from price comparisons, hardware advice, working around my budget etc.
It shows that a staff member cares when they talk you out of buying a part or upgrade that you would have otherwise paid extra for, because it would not make a great amount of difference for your need, which allowed me to save money on my build.
I am looking forward to receiving my computer and up to this point, would have no hesitate recommend Chillblast or ordering with them in the future.
The PC they built me was awesome and at the best price possible, standard delivery took less than 2 weeks and was packaged solidly. Their customer service has been really great, responding to all questions within a day, they even sent me an PCIe Ethernet card to help me troubleshoot a problem I was having which was not their fault at all. Thanks you Chillblast!
I've had my Chillblast PC for quite some time now so I feel I can give a fair assessment of it and Chillblast themselves. I'll start by saying I was a real pain in the neck customer. I purchased a Fusion Superfortress but I modified it beyond recognition and made demands that must have sent Ben over the edge, he helped me every step of the way however. One of my many requests along with a Corsair 650d case, an upgraded motherboard, fans and power supply was that the default Graphics card for the system I chose be changed to an Asus DirectCU ii. Chillblast were happy to oblige, unfortunately no less than three of these failed during Chillblasts extensive stress tests and each time they ordered a new one at their expense. I can't help but think many companies would have just sent the first one out and hoped for the best, the fact they were honest about all of this made me feel very secure in my purchase. Eventually we came to the agreement that as nice as the Asus card is, it is too much trouble so I went with the Gigabyte Windforce. This worked fine and Chillblast quickly dispatched my shiny new PC to me.... Disaster!
Somebody in the courier company had clearly dropped the box with some force as my GPU, Cooler and everything else was sat at an angle drooping downwards and looking rather sad... Back on the phone to Ben who knew my number by heart at this point to explain. A tonne of money down the drain I thought..... but not too worry, before the damaged system was even collected from my door (at chillblasts expense and arrangement) they had started building me a brand new rig, by this point I had one last demand, a superclocked EVGA GTX 680 instead of the windforce card that I had quickly decided didn’t really suit the look of my system, they accommodated me once again and I had my brand new machine sitting in front of me shortly after.
There was one more surprise of course, that GTX 680 was fine for a week or two, then I started getting error messages and glitches so I was on to Ben once again... a couple of days later I had a brand new graphics card arrive in the post and that was that. A year down the line and I couldn't be happier, this thing is a joy to use, it runs everything I throw at it on maximum graphic settings and it hasn't put a foot wrong.
I had rotten luck with this one initially with various hardware failing, none of which was Chillblasts fault in the least as these things happen sometimes and they were exceptional at getting things sorted. I have no intentions of buying a new PC for a fair few years to come as this one is perfect, but when I do there is only one place I'll be going to and that place is Chillblast. I really can't recommend them enough. Hope this helps.
I bought a high specification machine as noted below for my photography needs. All communication with Chillblast was via email, which was responded to very quickly. General advice was good taking into account my specific requirements and suggestions were made to the initial specification which meant I could downgrade a particular component and upgrade another component, without affecting overall performance.
Chillblast Fusion Photo OC IV, Corsair Graphite 600T Midi Tower Case, Intel Core i7 3930K 6-cored Processor 3.2GHz, Corsair Hydro Series H100i Extreme Performance Liquid CPU Cooler, ASUS Sabertooth X79 Motherboard, 32GB Corsair/Crucial PC3-12800 1600MHz DDR3 Memory, NVIDIA GeForce GTX 670 2048MB Graphics Card, 250GB Samsung 840 EVO Solid State Drive, 2000GB 7200RPM Hard Disk - 6Gbps Raid 1 Configuration, Windows 8.1 64 bit, 24" Dell UltraSharp U2412M Widescreen.
Delivery was on time and in good condition. Customer support to date has been fast and efficient. I don't foresee any support issues arising in the future as everything worked straight out of the box, but my general impression with Chillblast is that this is a company that cares about its product and its customers. and should an issue ever arise, I have the confidence that it will be dealt with quickly and without any hassle.
I researched a similar specification machine with a mainstream supplier and found to my amazement that the Chillblast was about 40% cheaper with higher quality components.
I would have no hesitation in recommending Chillblast as a company to deal with both on a profession level of knowledge and customer service .
I ordered a new PC from Chillblast after reading the good product revues in PC-Pro magazine. I chose a modified version of their Fusion Batwing 2 PC.
All correspondence is via email. I was informed when the PC went into build and test phase but was not informed that one of the components, (the processor cooler) had failed during test and had delayed the build. I found this out after I phoned them when 2 weeks had gone by. They do state 7-10 working days for delivery. Mine eventually took 14 working days from order to arriving.
I was informed of delivery day via email and the delivery was bang on the time stated. The box appeared to be OK, so I signed for it. However, on opening the packaging, the PC case was found to be slightly damaged. I telephoned Chillblast who offered to replace it but I declined as it would have meant more delay and me having to dis-assemble the PC.
I am very pleased with the PC. The build quality internally is excellent. Its a shame that the delivery company, DPD, did not heed the large lettering on the package, " VERY FRAGILE".
I would recommend Chillblast as a builder and would have given them 5 stars if not for the damage.
Well, I'd like to say that the PC, a chillblast fusion elixir, should not be allowed to exist. I received it around christmas with a not great delivery (took 1-2 weeks) and experienced power issues within 7 months of usage. THe graphics card is a horrific 7770 with 1 fan, and is easy to crash due to the not being powerful enough. Not only this, they supply with a PSU which i cannot start to describe how terrible it is. The only silver lining is that chillblast customer service is great, but this is a paltry excuse for a terrible system. If you can forgive the under powered graphics card, which is a point only for those hardcore gamers, the fact that they give you a terrible power supply and when it breaks, replace it with the same power supply, you know the computer will not work right, so why not fix it? I have now changed the power supply and terrible graphics card, and replaced iut with a decent CX660 and Radeon 7950.
I bought a high specs pc from them which I received few days ago. Intel I7 4930k, 64gb ram, Gigabyte motherboard, Nvidia Geforce GTX 780, 240gb ssd, 3 tb hdd, corsair water cooled pc.
Communication - all were through email - excellent pre and post order communication When there was an issue they called me and updated me. When there was an issue when I received the pc - they responded to my email straightaway All issues were addressed within no time. I love my pc. It works fantastic. No issues with the pc. Even if there was I am confident that they will look into it asap. Highly recommend Chillblast to everyone. I am in the process of ordering a low spec pc from Chillblast as they are the best. Even the delivery by DPD was perfect.
I bought a chillblast pc just under a year ago and started having issues with it. I raised a support email to them and they have been fantastic. They really reply quickly to all my issues and have sent out a replacement part and it's now fixed. Highly recommended!
received my chillblast fusion pc today so far it is awesome, excellent price for all the specs i needed, was well worth the fortnight wait. cant recommend this company enough am very glad i ordered from here thankyou !!
