Not Sharp at all

We wanted to replace our fitted bedroom units and as we had used Sharps for two of our other rooms and received an excellent service we thought we were on safe ground using them again. What a mistake - the salesman designed a lovely bedroom, 'please make sure that the gap on the left is roomy enough to open the doors', 'of course there is plenty of room', 'are you sure that you can get alcoves in walnut', 'yes, I've checked and you can get them'. The surveyor came to check the designer's plan -same question regarding space - again confirmed that there was, didn't bother to check the alcoves - silly me! Next day - the surveyor phoned, 'we don't do walnut alcoves' - furious I called Sharps - 'you have sold us a design and you can't deliver it, I want to cancel my order' - 'don't worry we have made a special order for you and we can now supply the items'. Bedroom fitted - lots of mess left behind (just hidden under the free standing unit) - still no alcoves and the gap is too small. When the alcoves finally arrived, they were damaged, incomplete and too big for the space, unbelievable - but Sharps' view was 'it's OK we will give you a credit note so it's not a problem! Sharps communication to the customer is appalling, I have had to phone numerous times, left my mobile number with the staff but my records have not been updated. There is NO transparency in the pricing, so when you receive a credit for something you didn't get, you can't tell whether it's right or not.

Excellent service. Very impressed with my new bedroom furniture.

I have just had bedroom furniture fitted in 2 bedrooms. It looks fantastic. The service was excellent. The fitter was very reliable and got the job done within the time limit .

Friendly and helpful until they've taken your money

The customer service we experience was okay (not great) until we actually paid. We had been told not to pay until we were absolutely satisfied, but the fitter wouldn't leave without payment. More than 2 months later we're still waiting for a window seat cushion. We have called, emailed and even tweeted and we still haven't got a fixed date for installation. Someone did come to measure, but they did it incorrectly and we're playing the waiting game again. They just don't really care! If we didn't keep calling them, they would never bother fixing the issue.

Horrible management

An extremely horrible company:

1. I was given a bunch coupons with huge discounts, so I decided to give it a try. "Listed prices" of materials were super inflated (come on... £2000+ for a pair of sliding door??) and there is a cap on total discount. So, I was still looking at £3000 for a medium size wardrobe.

2. the designer didn't come at the agreed time, apparently because he was sick. Sharps called me ones when I didn't have phone signals and didn't leave message or email. I ended up waiting at home the whole afternoon for nothing.

3. I decide to cancel one of the 2 wardrobes I ordered. Stupid customer service canceled the entire order for me. I requested callback to clarify my order status but never heard from anyone.

4. When i called the customer service (non-sale), no one never picked up and it always went into voicemail.

For the amount of money I was willing to pay, I deserve much better service. Till this moment I still don't know when they will give me my wardrobe, and I am already £1300 out for the deposit!!

Will you order from this company?? I won't, never ever again.

Excellent Bedroom furniture from Sharps

I had bedroom furniture installed from Sharps, really pleased with them, fitter was really good, explained everything he was doing and cleaned up after himself, which was great, would recommend them to anyone, good value for money.

No price labels attached!

Had to negotiate hard to get to an acceptable price around half if the salesmanship opening salvo. I dislike buying without a price label so this has previously put me off dealing with this kind of company. Purchased for one room to test before considering others.

Overall I am pleased with the service and installation. Nothing special and no disasters. Price paid was eventually fair and the workmanship is good. Workmans sticky finger marks left on glass and no after sales contact. Therefore have decided to explore other suppliers for additional requirements

Dream bedroom!

We shopped around for our fitted bedroom furniture but in the end, we once again chose Sharps to design the bedroom furniture in our new house. From the initial visit by the surveyor to discuss and advise on design until the finished article took less than 6 weeks. Sharps pricing was very competitive. We just love the finished article. Just brill! We only have an average sized bedroom but Sharps maximiized the available space so that now we have room galore for our clothes, shoes etc all hidden behind a classy facade. All work was completed to a very high standard - with no mess left behind. I recommend this company and their product. Can't speak highly enough about the fitters!

Complete mismanagement

This is an email I sent to sharps:

I have an array of issues with how my wardrobe project has been handled so far!

- My designer came late and I was left waiting without anyone informing me, he then called 1 hour later and stated he would be with me in 30 minutes, he was another 1 hour and 15 minutes late.

- After I had paid a deposit know one called me to arrange a survey date, I had to call.

- Finally when all my dates were given to me 9th, 18th 22nd. The surveyor came and mentioned all the drawings were wrong.

- All that said and done I was waiting for the 18th and 22nd to arrive. I just called to confirm times and dates to be told that they are not correct and there are no dates on my account due to ‘TECHNICAL FAULTS’. Surely if this is the case someone should of contacted ME! To make matters worse, I was put through to three people who told me that someone will call me back, learning how Sharps operate I called again and was told to call back as the other department (Planning department) is closed till 13:45!

Frankly, Sharps is completely mismanaged, I have paid £3,000 to be treated in a way I wouldn't even expect from IKEA.

I want someone to tell me what is going on and give me some dates that I can stick to.

I am so disappointed and I will 100% never order from Sharps again and stop anyone, so they avoid falling into this time wasting and expensive trap.

I do hope this issue is addressed as I can see this being ignored like every other step I have taken.

Further to our telephone conversation this morning, I would confirm that our surveyor, Alan Olseen, will be calling out to you on 9th April at 11 am, as arranged. You will need to ensure there is a letter of authority on site, to confirm that your mom can sign on your behalf.

In addition, I would confirm that, subject to survey, your furniture will be fitted during week commencing the 22nd April . Once the survey is complete, our planning department will call and confirm the exact dates that the fitters will be with you, in addition to confirmation of your delivery date of the 18th April.

Unbelievable!

Sharps bedroom

Designer – really good with good & effective ideas. No pressure to buy & really good storage & apearance ideas
Cost – very competitive with other suppliers, better than some for the quality of sliding mechanism.
Communication from order to installation – very good. Delivery on time & very courteous and careful.
Fitter excellent completed a really good job.
Some minor points –
Still awaiting the phone call upon completion of installation
Fitter should have cleaned the “inside” of the sliding doors – got sawdust on clothes & really difficult to clean doors when in situ.
Disappointed with the cost of making an alteration to one of the doors and with the seeming disinterest from the customer service person.

Overall
Very good service & wardrobes from Sharpes. We would recommend them and use them again.

Second time round for Sharps Bedroom

When we moved to this house about six years ago we wanted to change very badly designed and badly fitted our bedroom. We approach Sharps, the designer arrived on time and made very valuable suggestions after listening to what we wanted. Our new bedroom was installed in timely manner.
This year we decided to change two further bedrooms and again approached Sharps. To our big surprise the same designer arrived and again designed excellent wardrobes to our requirements. All materials were delivered on the specified day and the fitter arrived on appointed time and day. Again to our astonishement the fitter was very experienced and fitted both bedrooms in record time to a very high standard.
Overall, on both occasions we are very happy with the company and their service. It is very refreshing to receive good product and service in timely manner. We would recommend Sharps Bedrooms to a friend

Shockingly bad customer service - use someone else

I would give zero if that were an option. I would urge you not to go with this company unless you are prepared to take day after day off work waiting for deliveries that don't arrive followed by fitters who don't turn up, to be told by their absolutely AWFUL customer services team that they will come the next day - with no consultation as to whether you are actually available to take a delivery/let the fitters in. The customer services team are surly and argumentative and not in the least bit helpful. When I asked to complain I was told there was nobody for me to speak to. I am yet to see if the wardrobes themselves are any good as they haven't managed to show up yet.

For the price and promised quality you expect a certain level of customer service but it was just non-existant with this company. Really terrible experience.

Badly made bedrooms

we bought a Oxford wardrobe from Sharps bedrooms in July 2006, I recently noticed the laminate is peeling from the door, despite them advertising a 12 yo warrentee they dismissed my complaint and suggested I use PVA glue too repair it.
We paid around £2000 for this fitted wardrobe, I'd of expected it to last 20 + years before it started falling apart.

Sharps again and again

We first bought a Sharps bedroom in first house over 20 years ago , the furniture was chosen to match the paint scheme -rose white. When we moved the units were still perfect and we were able to take away the dressing table and stools which are still in use today. On one occasion we used another company but the units did not last and will have to replaced soon. In the meantime we have refurbished 2 bedrooms -1 twice following a flood and last year a home office which replaced a motley collection of shlelves and computer desks. On each and every occasion Sharps have provided excellent service from design and delivery to installation Five stars.

Second Time!

This is the second home we have chosen Sharps to fit bedrooms in. We used first used them nine years ago and when we moved last year we chose them again - our nine year old wardrobes still looked like new! Not cheap but worth every penny as they are strong, look good and definitely serve purpose. I am sure in any case they have added similar value to my home as the cost of having them fitted ( they certainly helped sell my previous home after giving us years of use!). The service from start to finish was very, very good- couldn't fault it!. The designer was extremely helpful and knowledgeable, delivery was spot on time and the work was completed quickly and efficiently by a very good and friendly fitter who I was comfortable having in my home. I would not hesitate to recommend to anyone looking for fitted bedroom furniture.

Happy to recommend sharps

We had four bedrooms fitted earlier this year and all of them are of different styles. We very much liked the quality of the work that has been done in all four bedrooms. The issue we faced was with the service provided. We had to chase for the work to be done many times. After a long delay of couple of months the wardrobes were fitted but I must say that the guy who worked on it was really good and did a very good fitting. So overall we are quite happy that we went with sharps.

Good Service and installation

We had Sharps fit our main bedroom, the surveyor was gave good advice.
Installation was trouble free and completed well in shorter than estimated time.

Excellent service overall - would recommend without hesitation

We had three bedrooms fitted earlier this year and couldn't really fault the process.

My daughter's bedroom in particular has been completely transformed into her new palace. We did need a replacement desktop in her room, but this was arranged and fitted with virtually no delay or fuss.

Sharps, in our experience, were particulary good regarding punctuality and communication - refreshingly positive in today's world.

I would happily recommend them to anyone wanting to maximise storage within their home.

Personal service and lovely products

We had a Sharps rep visit us at home and take a lot of time to go through our needs and help us design fitted wardrobes. Even with discounts the price was still pretty high. However, the end result is fantastic. Everybody who sees our wardrobes comments on how nice they are and we are very impressed with the look and quality. I had not been keen for the 'fitted' look as it can tend to lack style (in my opinion!)However, the wood finish we chose and the handles actually made the end result look very stylish and individual. We also visited a showroom to select handles and the assistant there was helpful, friendly and polite. All in all a good experience with this company.

Poor customer service

Bedroom fitted and generally happy apart from headboard which had chips in it and was fixed in the wrong place. Sharps sent a new headboard but delivered th 10 ft piece of chip board to the wrong house, again chipped.. Contacted customer services 4 times , each time with the promise of a call back which never happens. Bedroom still not complete after 3 weeks , which is a shame as we are happy with the majority of it.

So good, we called them back!

We had a fantastic experience with Sharps when we asked them to design our bedroom wardrobes. The designer took on board everything we needed and came up with a design that works perfectly for us. They paid attention to every detail, and the surveyor's visit picked up a minor change that was needed so there was no hassle when it came to installation. We were able to utilise the whole space available to give us maximum storage.

They were so good, we called them back to do our home study. Again, they paid attention to every detail, though the installation didn't go quite so smoothly. Firstly they delivered an incorrect door so I had to wait a week for it to be resolved, and even that was after I chased them, and they were very inflexible about delivery dates, saying the truck was only in the area on a certain day. In the end the piece was delivered by courier and not to the room like they said it needed to be, so causing unnecessary stress for a problem of their creation. Also, in the case of the study installation, we were told the panels that covered the plug sockets were supposed to be easy to remove for access to the sockets, but in fact, it is quite complex in Essenes that it could cause damage to the panel/desk if we ever tried to remove it.

Stand out service from Sharps!

Love my new fitted wardrobes, I have bags of space and they look simply stunning! Designer was fab, really spent the time giving us the right design. Fitter was so professional and did an outstanding job. Even had calls from Sharps to check we were happy with the service. Couldn't recommend Sharps enough, well done you could teach other companies a thing or two! Thank you for my stunning wardrobes!

Top quality design and service

From the initial designer visit through to the completed installation, Sharps were helpful, courteous and professional. The finished job is superb. We couldn't be happier.

Highly recommended

Sharps did an first rate job from start to finish. They kept in touch on a regular basis before the installation and fitter did a first rate job installing all the wardrobes. We went to Sharps on the basis of reputation and a recommendation from friends and the certainly lived up to all our expectations.

Good transformation with some problems

Overall happy with quality of the bedroom furniture and transformation of the bedroom

However, had issues with the designers and had to have multiple visits before the design was decided upon.

There were problems with the installation as well as the designer had miscalculated the depth of the wardrobe. This required further visits before a compromise was reached.

The fitter was amazing though and it is only due to his personal effort that the bedroom turned out the way it was meant to.

The customer service was satisfactory too and genuine effort was made to address the issues.

Top notch

We have used Sharps before, and we weren't disappointed when we used them again in our new home. The whole process was smooth from start to finish, everyone we spoke to from Sharps was extremely polite and helpful. We have a stunning set of bedroom furniture that we are extremely happy with.

Sharps Fitted Wardrobe

I was disappointed with the designer as he missold me the fitted wardrobe. He said there would be sides and a top to the wardrobe, he also recommended a builder to take out existing fitted cupboard. The builder left the walls in a bit of a mess, but I was reassured by the designer that the side panels would cover this. However, when they fitter came, there wasn't any side panels - there wasn't supposed to be with this particular fitted wardrobe. I had to wait a further couple of days so sharps could send sides as this is what i had been sold. The fitter was brilliant and managed to cover the mess that the builder had made. Pleased with the finished wardrobe, but was a stressful experience due to the incompetent designer.

Sharps fitted bedroom

We had a bedroom fitted by sharps August 2012. The overall experience went smoothly. Staff onsite were maticulious. The standard of materials are finished to a good spec.

Sharps fitted Shaker bedroom furniture in cream

We had bought this fitted bedroom furniture for our previous home and liked it so much that we made enquiries about having it for our new house. From start to finish Sharps team are excellent. The designer made good suggestions as to how to miximise our hanging space and because we were having alterations done to the house everything was kept on hold until we gave the word that we were ready to have it fitted. Nothing went wrong, everything went smoothly, it looks great and we've got all the space we needed. Thank you to Sharps.

Stunning bedroom that will last forever

The whole process was great. The interior designer was very insightful suggesting a great layout for our room that i didn't think was possible due to irregular shaped room and slanted ceilings. The delivery men and fitter were very effiecient and tidy! The finished product is just beautiful. We had a large wall fitted with the glossy vanilla doors and draws surrounded by walnut wood. The finished product looks amazing and is very practical. Well worth the money

fantastic result ...transformation!!

had the designer come out and give me a quote and thought wow bib pricey!! but went ahead as desperately needed some serious storage space... anyway cant say how happy i am that i did, fantastic!!!! just love everything about my fitted wardrobes, they look fab, installation was minimal disruption and quick service was saecond to none and they hold masses, they may not be cheap but you get what oyu pay for... would not hesitate to go for them again :)

Sharps not up to the Mark

Sharps Bedrooms and Home Office company are in my experience a nightmare.

I have just recently had my spare room fitted with a wardrobe and have had nothing but issues from the beginning from the 1st surveyor said I needed to do one thing and designed the room which I must say on paper I really did like but when the next person came to check the design he then said that this could not happen due to a fire in the room and a curtain rail, so I had to have another surveyor come and make another design.

There was issues with the person who came and turned up to fit the waldrobe, when I asked him for his ID badge, he didnt have it and gave me a story that he had been with the comapny for 12 years fitting and never been asked and he was sent to me as he was the best fitter.

After the wardrobe was fitted I have had endless issues with this company and they are still unresolved as I write this review. They have yet to take some of the rubbish away from the fitting and also I have had to have someone back to fix some the the dodgy workmanship that I was unhappy with. Also in the small print Sharps state that they are not liable for any damage to the decorating, well I had my room decorated after the wardrobe was fitted and then had to have them come back again to fix some of the issues and I had to get a letter of confirmation from them that in my case they would be liable because the way I see it if they had done the job right in the first place they would not have had to come back once my decorating had been done.

Overall my experience with them has caused me a lot of stress, all I wanted to do was get this room decorated ready for when my great grandson was born and for when he comes over to stay. The room is still not finished as the curtain rail which I had altered because of sharps, which in fact did not need to be done in the end, now needs to be sorted out and I am now waiting on Sharps getting back to be about various things but getting to call you back or to speak to the same person is an nightmare and I have now lost my patience with them.

Sharps Bedrooms and Offices are terrific!

We are very pleased with the two fitted bedrooms and the office we got from Sharps. Everyone we dealt with from the salesman to the fitters was polite and helpful. The salesman listened to our requirements and designed bedrooms and an office which fitted our requirements. The goods and the fitters all arrived on time. The quality of the furniture is excellent and we are really enjoying using the wardrobes, chest of drawers, bookcases and filing cupboards. We are in a dorma bungalow but we mainly want to live downstairs and so Sharps even managed to put a linen cupboard in our office. We would recommend Sharps to family and friends.

1st class service

was sold on the idea of having our bedrooms fitted with tailored units so went and saw the lady at sharps.
Really taken with the patterns that were subtle but had prescence.
Had them measured and awaited the day for them to be delivered. You can not imagine the feeling of absolute despondancy we experienced when the materials were delivered! Ther wer marks on the laminate, poor packaging, the wrong size alcoves with all the panels looking grubby and poorly finished.
The delivery guys said all was well and that none of it would show once fitted.
The fitter arrived next day and we shared our concerns with him.
He listened carefully and suggested two courses of action,
stop the fitting and have the area manager around to discuss what can be done, or go ahead with the fitting.
We went with option 1 and had a visit from the area manager who was not in the least defensive and immediately suggeste we went through all of our difficulties and concerns so that he could correct all the issues straight away.
He ordered all repacement parts where any were not of a sufficient stadard and authorised the fitter to order any subsequent parts that were needed to get the job done right.
Between the manager and fitter we had a team of concerned representatives who wanted to give us the best job possible - and they did!
Well done to sharps for having and supporting such responsible guys to ensure that we the customer got a superb pair of bedrooms.

Cool bedroom

We originally thought Sharps would be really expensive but decided to get a quote for our daughters new bedroom.
Our designer was Morgan O'Kennedy and he was great, listened to what we wanted, advised and then drew up the design. Next was Chris Simpson, the Surveyor, who came out, measured and gave us some advice. We then changed our mind over the door sizes and Morgan again visited to draw up the new design, no trouble happy to oblige. Ordered and quick delivery. It was then time for installation by Jason Lock the Sharp's installer, very tidy, cleared up and fantastic job, showed us various workings and then we were finished ready for my daughter to move in to her new bedroom.

My new boutique style room is wonderful

The service from start to finish was great. the designer was helpful and spent a lot of time with us, the fitter was helpful prompt and clean and tidy. It was fitted on the day we requested without any delays and the materials were all complete and undamaged on delivery. I now have the bedroom of my dreams and am the very proud owner of a luxury boutique style room thank you to all the Sharps staff

Top class workmanship and design

Over the moon with our bedrooms, although a little pricey they do everything we wanted in a bedroom, no complaints from me !!!!

New wardrobes!

We love the wardrobes that have been fitted, with the design and style of the inside it gives lots of storage space which is what we needed as they are in quite a small room. The shoe racks, shelves and drawers make it much more easier to organise and keep it nice and tidy.
Extremely happy with the wardrobe fitter as he was punctual, polite and didn't waste any time.
Love the end result.
