I liken Simply Electronics to a typical Budget Airline! You use them because they are cheaper, but don't expect too much in the way of service between Start - Finish. Would I use them again? Probably based on my experience and what I now know.
I ordered a Sony NEX-7 plus lens @ nearly £1000 uk.
Ordered on 12th April and arrived on 4th May 2012. The frustrating part in the communication or lack of. Also having to validate the sale by an additional form of identity.....utility bill! I think if I could get hold of someone elses credit card to use I could probably get a utility bill! Anyway moving on........ You can email or phone. The emails are not answered as per the question you asked. Example 'Where is my product'? Answer ' We are experiencing an unpresidented demand'. With regard to the phones.......yes you can phone and be told your call will be answered in 1 hour 40 odd minutes, but it goes on to say 'call back in 1 hour 40 and you'll be at the head of the queue. I did and I was. SimplyElectronics need to give their customer services a kick up the ar*e and be more honest regarding realistic delivery times. If you have in your mind it will take 3 weeks you'll keep your stress levels down. I tried to buy this product in this country but was told by the leading camera suppiers Jessops that they wouldn't match the price ( £150+ ) as the products were imported! I did ask where they got their Sony products from!!!! I would cautiously recommend for products. Oh and they did send a standard screen protector for my extra big screen.....replaced by return of post. Give them a go and try not to get stressed.

I recently bought a Sony Ericsson Smart phone from them which I have received and very happy with.
Just a day after when I should have received this item but did not, I contacted the company by email and on their part, excused themselves for the short delay and offered to send my phone by express mail to Malta at no extra cost. They in fact kept their promise and received my phone the following day. I believe that such service and customer care should be applauded for. Well done and thank you. I will definitively buy from this company again.
To keep it short
Purchased camera which was allegedly noticed damaged by packing department. Told to pick another camera as this one was no longer in stock. or let them know how i wanted to proceed. I told them i wanted to cancel with a full refund. 48 days later i have just received a refund after spending hours on the phone trying to get through to their non existent customer service AT MY OWN EXPENSE and having loads of automated e-mail replies WITH NO ANSWERS. Money only refunded after bank intervention.
DO YOURSELF A VERY BIG FAVOUR AND BUY ELSEWHERE.
Ill start with they are CHINESE do they mention this at all? No! They do not. Do they look english yes they do! For a start customer service is so poor you wait 50 mins on the phone before some usless person answers to say you need to email. What a waste of money for the phone call.
The email they send back is normally no help and full of lies to shut you up.
They take your money instantly and when you try to get a refund its harder than trying to get orange juice from a sock.
They dont offer a paypal service so your protection is only with your bank.
They ask for more information than is needed such a credit card statements and utility bills. Ive paid for it just send it alredy oh and do they mention the bills before you buy it? No they do not again but have they taken ur money alredy yes they have!
Stay well clear honestly go to digital rev if you need cheap cameras ect they are so much more professional for slightly more money

Ordered Samsung Galaxy Note because of the price (about €100 cheaper then everywhere else), then got little bit scared after reading few reviews, but they exceeded my expectations. Everything was fast, communication was excellent, everything from order placing to delivering lasted about week. I'm happy and enjoying my new unlocked Galaxy Note now !!!

Found these idiots through a google search trying to order a Galaxy Tab 2. The website showed several in stock for UK delivery. I phoned them to double check and was told that the items were definitely in stock in the UK ready for dispatch in 2-4 days. As the days passed my order status on the website never moved from "new", even when I called to try and chase it along I was told it was too late in the order process to upgrade to express delivery. They also offered to "prioritize" the order but nothing changed. Eventually decided to cancel the order and get a refund, yes they charged my card even though they blatantly had no stock to dispatch. The order status has now changed to "refund in progress", we'll see. On a separate note and I'm sure its a complete coincidence, somebody who I have given my card details to has tried to use it fraudulently, luckily it was picked up by my card company. In the light of some of these reviews, I think I'll be asking my card company to reclaim the payment.
This is a company who says they are from the UK but are actually in Hong Kong. They take your money straight away and then the item goes out of stock, they take a few days to reply to emails and the call centre is painful, the rudest person I have ever spoken to. I eventually got them to agree to a refund, however a few weeks later I am still waiting for them to issue one. I have now raised this as a dispute with my bank.
I ordered the product late night on 4th May and received a confirmation stating that my order would be dispatched in 2 - 4 days and delivered in 5 - 8 days using free standard delivery. I recieved an email on 9th May to say the product had been dispatched and that I should receive it next working day. Just as I was getting concerned it arrived by courier on the afternoon of 11th May. The product was as described and carefully packed. I am a happy customer and I saved almost 20% on the cheapest price anywhere else
I found out about this store by searching the net for a specific product. The price was the best I had found and I asked them some questions and I got the answer in prompt time. Unfortunately the item I wanted just vanished and my first thought was that the item did not exist in stock at all !!!. I kept watching them for a week and finally there it was ! I grabbed my luck and ordered it and within few days I got it in Greece without any shipping cost !

I ordered an Asus tablet from these people on 8th may and received it today which is 24/5/12. After ordering i saw bad reviews on this website and I regretted buying from them; however I had patience and waited for my product which came without any problems and works perfectly. If there is anyone out there reading this just have patience and your product will be shipped. Also you have to keep emailing them asking why the product took long; I think my constant emails pushed them to dispatch it quickly.

Spent £1249 waited two weeks for my product, still hadn't been processed, after numerous emails and phone calls still awaiting my refund 3 almost four weeks now and still no money! Totally unacceptable and arguing with barclaycard as I cancelled my order they are saying I'm not covered!
So no product no refund!

I have used Simple Electronics on two occasions. Both times I have received excellent service and have been pleased with my purchases. I have received emails to let me know when my orders have been dispatched and when I should expect delivery.
I will definitely use Simply Electronic again and have recommended them to friends at my Camera Club.

I ordered an Ipad from these guys, What can I say, Fantastic price (the best I could find) and It arrived in the delivery time they stated right from the start. The next time I want something electrical they will be my first port of call.
Extremely disappointed with Simply Electronics, and still struggling to gain a refund on my credit card, in spite of the fact that, two weeks ago, they agreed to cancel the order and refund the credit charge.
Their phone lines are a joke too. You call at lunchtime to be told you are 80 something in the queue but can reserve your place and call back later. You then call back later to be told you are 112th in the queue!
I ordered an iPad (64 MB, black, wifi only) a few weeks ago. Their website reported they had 62 units in stock so I assumed it would be shipped immediately. I should have been more suspicious - no other retailer in the country, apart from Apple, had any stock left for this model, and no firm date for new stock arriving in the UK.
I was shocked that Simply charged my credit card immediately. One week later, there was no sign of any shipment. Not surprisingly, I grew suspicious of their stock levels and decided to cancel my order - a request that had to be repeated several times.
It is now two weeks since they agreed to a refund later and I am still waiting for a refund.
It's a shame - last year I had good service from this company - but this sort of business behaviour is simply not acceptable.
This is the second time I have dealt with Simply, both times I have received the goods promptly, when they said they would deliver them. Their prices are very extremely good. A couple of years ago I bought a high end digital camera from them at a price which was cheaper than a leading photographic dealer was selling used ones for. This time the laptop I bought was cheaper than I can buy through my work.
Email contact is excellent and they kept me informed about my orders. I have recommended them to friends.
I done a lot of research on what camera to buy to suit my needs. Then I went to buy one as cheap as possible. I done the usual Ebay and the last people I bought my last couple of camera's from, Picsmania. At the last moment I saw simplyelectronics. I checked them out and saw the only issues was guys waiting up two 2 weeks waiting on their product. However these guys were ordering over the new year. I order a lot from china and I know the new year goes on a long time in China so this is not a real complaint. Anyway, the camera was 100 euro cheaper than the lowest shop which I usualy buy from and a lot cheaper than ebay. I also knew there would be no problems with customs as I beleive the items ship from UK. I ordered the camera Tue night. I got an e-mail the next evening saying it was shipped. I got a call from the courier Monday morning to make sure I was there and I got the camera that afternoon. Perfect!! I want to share this as there is not many places that offer this kind of service at a rock bottom prise. If people get their product and alls ok usually you here nothing but if they have an issue they let the world know on the net. You know the story.
It's Simply Electronics from now on! I WILL be calling them again. You should do the same.

I have to admit a hasitated after reading all the bad reviews butI ordered a Canon lens on the 11th and recieved it excactly 1 week later.
Perfect costumer service, fast e-mail reply if you have any questions and fast delivery. I saved lots of money ordering the lens from Simply electronics and i would definitely order from them again!! I regret it now that i didnt order a lens hood right away....
As most of the customers here, I’m very unsatisfied with the service provided by simply electronics, without a doubt they are one of the cheapest suppliers in the market but one of the most fraudulent companies I have come across since shopping over the internet. Their website is a scam from beginning to end. I purchased a kindle fire from them on the 5th of 2012 and up to now there has been not one single attempt from simply electronics to contact me and explain to me why they sold a product that they did not have in stock in the first place. Do be careful, they still say that the product is in stock and from the 10th of May their stock has gone up from 14 units to 143 units. However, they are unable to proceed with my order as is all a lie and simply electronics do not have the product in stock. I very upset for not looking into this website before purchasing my kindle but this does not mean that I will let them get away with their fraudulent proceedings.

just bought a tamron lens from simply electronics, ordered on 3 May 2012, shipped on 9th may, item arrived on 11 May, but has I was out at the time DHL were unable to leave the item, however after a quick call to DHL they delivered at a later time when I would be in,I thought the service and delivery time was very good considering this item had come from hong Kong, would use simply again, paid 369.95 for this lens,439.99 in jessops
I got was very wordy e-mails that didn't make any sense. Basically, I was being fobbed off!! Matters have been worse by the fact that when I asked for a refund the same attitude applied. I am still waiting to get my money back two weeks after I asked for it!!
I have never been treated more shoddily by any company that I have shopped with on the internet. I won't be using them again and I advise others to stay away!
I was worried reading the reviews but it came on time and was excellent service.

Found Simply Electronics had the best price around for the Canon 'L' series lens that I wanted saving £180 on average price. The email contact with company was excellent, very prompt and apart from not realising the lens was coming from Hong Kong, (had assumed it was in stock already in UK) I must say, it was given priority shipping and arrived two days later by 10 am. Why pay more when this company can do such a good price. Have only used the lens once today as it only arrived this morning but so far so good and it is exactly the same product you would be paying more for in your local department or camera store on the high street. Well done Simply Electronics, at these fair prices I would use you again. Only fault I could find is that the first time I tried to telephone you (for missing parcel tracking number), there was a waiting time of 24 minutes so I tried again an hour later and it was just 2 and half minutes so that was ok.
Ordered my camera on 26th April expecting a dispatch within 2-4 business days as stated on Simply Electronics website. The money (£645) was taken out of my account the following day.
Three weeks later the order is still showing a new status with no indication of dispatch date.
My first email to them requesting an estimated dispatch received a general statement relating to problems they were having but they would do their best to dispatch as soon as possible. My second email was more specific relating to an estimated delivery but again received a response informing me that they could not give an indication but as a gesture of goodwill they would expedite the order at no extra cost to me.
Well I am glad I didn't have to pay for this service since it made no difference to the order status.
Seeing that others had problems waiting for a refund following cancellation I decided to raise the issue with my card company and received a refund within 24 hours.
They are no doubt the cheapest supplier in this market but one of the worst service providers I have come across. Their website is festooned with acceditation on service which in my case they didn't live up to.
If your priority is cost and you are prepared for a long wait for your goods then they may be the suppplier for you. Otherwise stay away.
The product arrived quickly in about 5 days time. It was exactly as described :) I'm very happy with their service. When I had some queries they replied in 2 days time. At first, when I read some reviews, I was very shocked as many people say not to buy from this site. But then I received my product and was literally very satisfied with service. I will definitely but again!

Bought a Canon 55 - 250 lens last weekend. The lens arrived this morning (Thurs) by DHL. I got an email telling me it had been dispatched and asking me could I let them know when I received the lens. I also go a messge this morning saying it was arriving today. Took a couple of photos this morning with it and I'm delighted with the lens.
Can't fault them and will probably buy from them again!
I ordered a Tamron lens on the 03/04/12 costing over £300.00. On the 12/04/12 I received an e-mail from the company saying the item was damaged, they could not get another in the near future and would I like to chose an alternative product, I emailed the back directly and asked the for a refund. After many emails and telephone calls (the average wait time to speak to cusomer services is 50 mins) I have finially received my money back today 17/05/12. I would point out that I believe I have only received the refund due to my sending a registered letter confirming I was commencing legal action. This whole business has been a nightmare, their customer services is a shables, I received a string of pathetic excuses and broken promises. I kicked my self for not refering to this web site before placing the order. The cost in time a telephone calls dealing with this company has far exceeded the extra cost of purchacing the item from a repitable company. This company is so bad, their site should be shut down immediatly!

used successfully three years ago so dived in again without checking. Big mistake. This is a Hong Kong based company, not UK despite the polished web site in word perfect English. Check the "about" tab at the foot of the home page, they tell you here. Problem is how many of us look there. Claim to accept PayPal and Google Checkout but when I bought these were not an option. Customer service number can be reached I spoke to them twice but it is not worth your time or money, they actually cannot tell you anything relevant to your order. Shown stock levels are a work of fiction, it is my opinion Simply try to source your order after placement, and hold little, or no stock. Your card will be debited IMMEDIATELY on ordering, not on dispatch as per Amazon etc. I am now ten days in have no idea if or when I will receive my order. My bank have advised me to give it 30 days then they will intervene. Luckily Big Norman were cheaper for my EOS 550D body and it was delivered from Gibralter in 6 days. They were £20 more expensive for 430 flash and 50mm lense combined and now I'm kicking myself for not getting it all there. It's about time card providers looked at level of complaints and stepped in to either sort this shambles out or shut them down
One week delivery time is fine for me when the price is 20% below nearest competitor. Will certainly shop at SE again.

I ordered a phone, because it was much cheaper than anywhere else, and it said it was in stock. I waited the 8 business days... nothing. I contacted them, and they said they were having trouble sourcing it. I questioned, then, why the website still said "in stock" (it even gave a number that were in stock). I never got an answer to that. After a couple more back and forth emails (it took them several days to reply to each), they would not give me a date that I could expect the phone, nor any real reason for the delay.
I cancelled the order after a month. Nearly two weeks after being told my order had been cancelled and that I could expect a refund, I'm still waiting. I've queried the transaction with my credit card company, so hopefully I'm covered and will eventually get my money back. Minus a couple of months interest of course: maybe that's how they make their money.
To sum up: do not use.
If you want to give a company money for a gift that diid not arrive, then do all the leg work trying to get the product and the company to commit to a delivery date. Only to get wound up a be forced to cancel the order and to be still waiting for the refund after placing the order 50 days a go then this unreliable misleading company is the one for you. they have not yet broken the Consumer rights laws but they are dragging out the the days they have to comply to by law.
My experience is probably similar to many of the other negative reviews. I was looking for a Mac Mini and found (3) in stock at SimplyElectronics at £100 cheaper and 2-4 days delivery. All other cut price sites and out of stock. Several days later the order was still at New status. The customer enquiries form took 2 days to get a response which was a typical, sorry we have had a backlog. And so it went on for two weeks. Eventualy by enquiry demands a refund the next day, despatch or report them to trading standards. They replied that it was now despatched and I would get an automated confirmation although that might be delayed because of server maintenance. Eventually four days later (over a weekend) the goods arrived - shipped from Hong Kong!! I have ordered things from Hong Kong via ebay and even they have arrived very quickly. I suspect that were others have had a good service is where the items are really in stock even in Hong Kong.
Clearly their webpage was giving untruths and delaying tactics in the customer response. Generally unrealiable and poor customer relations. Steer clear of them.
Ordered Lumix G3 + lens on 6th April. No sign of anything happening
with order. Cancelled order on 24th April. Order confirmed cancelled
on 4th May. Still waiting for refund. Gave up trying to communicate by phone, as when you are at top of queue, you get cut off!
You also get a standard email which states your order is being followed up by a representative and you will be notified within a few days. Not so!
Two years ago I ordered a Lumix camera and the service was good.
I can now only assume this company is rapidly going downhill and I do worn people to be very careful.
Be warned - do not deal with this company. I ordered an IPad2 on 25th April using Mastercard. They then request a copy of a utility bill (described as essential for verification purposes !) and optionally that I produce photographic ID - passport or driving licence ! I thought the first totally unnecessary - my credit card company verifies my financial capability but nonetheless provided a utility bill on 26th April. After chasing I get an email on 9th May telling me that they are unable to complete the verification process and will be cancelling the order. I have still yet to receive a refund. So the scam is get your order by offering the lowest market price, hold your cash for several weeks and then cancel the order. Beware - do not use this company !
I read these reviews first before ordering because I could not believe that my lumix lx5 was sold at 100 euros cheaper than any other site. At first, I was not going to order and pay extra but I took a chance and ordered anyway.
It came in 5 days, a very speedy delivery, perfect product and it saved me a whopping 100 euros!!!

Simplyelectronics I have saved over 300 Euro compared
to the next best price. After my first purchase I too looked
at reviews and was scared at what I found and thought
I was in for hell but nothing of the sort. I will buy from
again and again. Unless you want to waste your money
you should do the same. Think about it. I'd say they do
hundreds of sales per day, there are going to be mistakes
shit happens(there's even car stickers to prove it). The
fact that they're still here after years of online abuse has
to mean something. People rarely leave reviews when
they get what they want but make a mistake and they're
all over it.....Buy from Simply you won't regret it!!!
