Purchased a Nikon D7100 on April 25th, couldn't believe the price, over €200 cheaper than anywhere else, jumped in and paid up then went to check the reviews on the company, couldn't believe what i was reading, negative review after negative review, i cursed myself for being so stupid, would of asked for a cancellation straight away but was reading some horror stories on that also, so I decided to wait and hope.
The next day the company asked for an utility bill to prove that i am who i say i am, bit strange but i sent them one anyway, now i was worried about fraud after reading other peoples concerns, at this stage i was very nervous and was resigned to the fact of trouble ahead, so after 6 or so updates from them the camera arrived today the 23rd may, 18 working days in total, the package was well packed and everything in working order.
Overall and mostly I'm relieved, and all the stress has lifted, but will say this, it was all self induced.
Will purchase from Simply again but will order in plenty of time, they say 3 weeks but mine was closing in on 4, hope this helps somebody, my advise is to be very patient
My son bought himself an ipad mini with money he had received for his birthday so was a little nervous as not used company before. However, Simply Electronics sold this item cheaper than other places and delivered in keeping with their timescales - giving us regular updates with where the delivery was in the process. Excellent service and now my son is happy playing on his ipad mini!! Thank you.

Contacted them on a number of occasions as my orders are still not dispatched
(first order 11/5/13 second order 14/5/13).
The email responses, clearly appear to be "fob offs" as they continually show on their website that both lenses are allegedly in stock. The second order currently (as of today) shows they have 7 of these lenses in stock, the first order 2 in stock??????
Asked for a date if dispatch on first order (canon24-105l),they could not give one and therefore have advised if not dospatched by the 25th, will contact my credit card company and I will cancel both orders.

Simply Electronics is a company with very good prices and feel that you can trust even though the goods are being shipped from Hong Kong. I have had two items from them and I have had no problems with both. The first item took a good while to come but the second item arrived in a couple of weeks. I would recommend them for your consideration. It would be nice to have a predicted date for delivery though.
I purchased a Canon G1X .. When it arrived the battery was not in the box.. The blue-battery packaging and battery-end-cap but no battery. I reported this to Simply Electronics but have as yet not received a replacement.
Fantastic service from Simply Electronics, this is the 3rd time I have ordered an ipad from them and they just get better and better, emails every step of the way and upgraded delivery for the second time. Ordered late on the Tuesday night and it was delivered by free delivery on the Friday, within the specified 1 hour timeslot. Cannot rate highly enough. Very satisfied customer.
I have used Simply Electronics a number of times now and always found them to be very good value and with no hidden problems.
I ordered a new Canon Powershot SX50 from Simplyelectronics. The website was spot on, the price was without a doubt the best on the internet. It didn't mention that the product would be delivered from outside of the UK (Hong Kong) but I was provided with full details of the shipping company. It arrived, full UK spec, well wrapped. The only thing you need to expect is that the delivery times will be a few days more due to sourcing.
Overall I can recommend them based on this purchase.
I have just bought a camera from SE... Their prices are low, but their process of making your order ready are a bit slow, and the delivery-times are slow too. But If you buy good time in advance (minimun 15-25 days) you should be allright.
I had a lot of questions concerning the desired product, and I got a good and quick respons from them. I then decided to place an order, The camera was shipped from Hong Kong, but I did not get any problems concerning taxes and VAT eventhough I live in Denmark.I placed my order 30th of April, and received my camera 15th of May.
To their defence they also write on the website that you should expect a deliverytime of at least 7-14 BUSINESS days, which can come to a total of nearly 3 weeks.
And I do not work for them!!!!!
So I can surely recommend them (If you are patient and can wait for 2-3 weeks receiving the order)
I ordered a galaxy ace 2 off this lot over 4 weeks ago. Got messed around so much I decided to cancel and ask for refund. Two weeks on still no refund. I've initiated a dispute against them via my credit card company. The money you supposedly save isnt worth the risk and stress!

Everything from placing my order to receiving it was smooth as silk. Placing the order was walked through step by step ( handy for me)
The parcel was tracked so I knew where it was, and importantly when I could expect delivery.
My parcel arrived securely packed, with no package damage.
I'm very happy.
I ordered a camera off Simply Electronics, estimated delivery 7-14 working days. After 3 days they emailed to say it had been upgraded to next day delivery, which was nice. It didn't arrive for another 3 days but it was still early compared to the original estimate.
Considering they also had the cheapest price I could find online for the camera as well, I'd buy from them again.

I placed an order on 8th April for an iPad, realising that there is no delivery information, I have asked to cancel the order as I don't want to wait endlessly. Despite I made my reason very clear, and T&C allows it, the stuff has all sorts of reason not to cancel the order. The most annoying part is that the order status was 'payment is not processed yet' at that stage, so it could be a straightforward cancellation. So 1 week later on 15th April, the payment has been processed and wow, I got confirmation that the order has been cancelled and refund will be processed in 2 weeks. Guess, now it is 14th May, I am still waiting for it despite several chasing. I guess my only option is to go back to my credit card company.
Definitely avoid it!
I ordered an I pad 2 off of my sons birthday money he got on 8th April I searched around and simply electronics seemed to have the best deal so I ordered. He was asking where his I pad was every couple of days eventually I phoned on the 24th April to find out where it was and they said it wasnt shipped yet and didnt know when it would be shipped so I cancelled the order . They said 3 working days and worst case 14 days for your money back so I said to my son we ll be able to get your I pad somewhere else next week (hopefully) it's now 11th may and still no money back still getting told the same thing from customer services every day my refund has been prioritised. 5 weeks on after my sons birthday he still has no I pad and no money back to buy one. thanks simply electronics totally shocking experience with your selfs will never ever buy anything from this website again and will recommend it to no one
Performed as described; however, it would be better if they could compete on the speedy delivery front. Most other suppliers are quicker in delivering the order. I was sent an email asking me to rate the product before the product had arrived!
I found the lens at a great price bought it.I was kept informed of progress and I got it within 24 hours of it landing in the U.K.
Visually it looks good ,i`ve got the white one,very easy initial set up takes great pics,easy to use zoom (18+) great photos,14mps,Performs well on all fronts.
I found some reviews of Simply Electronics after I placed my order. I am happy they proved the bad reviews wrong. Within two weeks I received my Nexus 10. It was packed nicely and even contained two adapters that aren't part of the usual package.
I have used Simply a few times and Lways find prices and service to be good.
I, like many-many people all over the web, were fooled by their European-looking website and their low prices. I am not ashamed of wanting to same money, I only regret I wasn't smart enough to Google them first.
I ordered quite expensive stuff, lenses I planned to use during my upcoming travels. The next day they asked me for electricity/gas bills in order to "prevent money laundering". Interestingly, they were not shy to take my money in the first place. I provided them with some bills and told them I felt insulted by this treatment. I got a response right away and my goods were "released". Since then (22 Apr) I got only un-informative stock responses with no explanation of the delay.
Currently, my order is "waiting for courier dispatch" for days, even though on the website it shows the items are in stock. I have already been informed that they are conducting "routine checks". Based on other people's experience, this means the next step will be "ooooh, we are so sorry, it looks like your items were damaged, we have to send them back to the supplier", with further weeks of delay.
They are playing on people cancelling their order, tired of waiting. Then they will withhold the refund, and the customers' money stays with them. This is how they finance their activities.
Dear Simply, not with me. I've decided to get my goods whatever it takes, shaming Simply Electronics on every possible forum so that others are not fooled.
UPDATE: I started a Paypal claim against them and they refunded my money the next day. If your order is delayed, try this, it works.

Similar experience to others. Simply electronics give the impression on their website that they are UK based. They are not. Quick to take your money..then nothing happens. Don't believe the 7 - 14 day delivery promise it ain't true, their staff will make all sorts of promises that your goods are just about to arrive but they don't. If you have been similarly conned get onto your c/card company and hopefully we can get this lot blacklisted.
Would use again, but customers should be made aware of import duty on goods.

Simplyelectronics is a horrendous company. Ignore all their promises and the like - they'll take your money and not send your purchase, keeping you waiting with 'order tracking'. Don't fall for it - it might look like a hundred quid off but in reality you're just paying for nothing.
I ordered an Asus Transformer Infinity from them because they were by far the cheapest, and in a foolish mistake I won't repeat, didn't look them up. No-one wants to help you and it seems pretty clear to me that their 'expert staff' are in reality just scammers. They look like a dream company - sure, the website is a bit clunky but it looks properly European and you'd never guess, I never guessed they were actually from Hong Kong. That may seem like nothing to you but in reality a Hong Kong company is under Hong Kong law - you can see for yourself what's wrong with that.
Looking through everyone else's reviews the theme seems clear. First you order, then you worry, then you start the emails and calls. Your order is 'backlogged', a clever tactic that makes you think the company is really popular. You keep waiting and they keep up the 'we'll send it soon' charade until finally you cancel and don't get a refund.
I'm going to hold out a little longer, kick up a fuss and see if they'll finally listen. I honestly just want my device but I don't have much hope - however it seems the only chance I have. A few good reviews don't make someone trustworthy, and has anyone else noticed how only the 5* review's are getting the customer confirmation thing? Very, very unreliable. What a brillian company and a pleasure to purchase from. My order was cheaper than others, arrived well within a week, and I was told every step of the way where my product was. It was also packed brilliantly. Could not be happier and will definiety use them again.
See above. The lens arrived more quickly than expected and was basically a bargain!
After reading other reviews about simply electronics I was apprehensive about ordering from them but I didn't need to be. Great service delivered well within the dates I was given and always kept upto date with progress
Sooooo. Continuing the saga.
Having ordered a camera on April 4th and being told that is would be with me in a week or so, I then went through the SimplyElectronics fob off machine - firstly there was a computer glitch that told me my camera was coming when it wasn't, then it was damaged and couldnt be sent, then I asked the Sales team if they had the three advertised (they did) but for some reason they couldnt send me my order......the customer services chap said he would get the warehouse to dispatch it, but nothing happened.....
Lots of calls to Hong Kong later and loads of very calm customer services people who obviously don't care about the fact that they spend their days making up stories. (I doubt they undersand what a customer is).
Then WOW! An emial telling me that they were going to send my camera to me in the middle of last week. Did I believe it? No.
And rightly so - no camera arrived, so once again I chased it and the latest excuse is that as I put in an earlier complaint to Trust Pilot, so my order is now on hold.
Sorry? Because I have complained about this terrible business they now can't send me the goods that I was told would be sent last week. Haven't you heard that the customer is always right?
So I reckon there are at least four if not five sets of complete lies they have given me so far and wonder what the next episode has in store.
I just want my camera - why don't they realise that I am about to tell a lot more people than Trust Pilot about this - send me the camera and I will go away and the social media campaign need not happen.
Simply Electronics - SEND ME MY CAMERA NOW PLEASE.......

Like most here I tried to save 60 quid and bought a Mac Mini after confirming with them by phone that A: they had them in stock and B: it would be delivered within the specified time. Almost a month late and after countless phone conversations bordering on the ridiculous, I'm still waiting for it, despite a notice on my account that the item is awaiting dispatch, which has been the case for the last three weeks . I spoke with their REP Jeff today and on the basis of that conversation I've submitted a cancellation notification. However after reading the reports here and elsewhere of others that have dealt with this company, my confidence in the refund process is low to say the least. Consequently I've spoken to my bank and initiated a dispute and I've been told that if I don't receive a full refund by the company my bank will take action and will refund my money within 10 to 28 days. I should say my MOP was Visa debit. Furthermore should this company dick me around any more than they have I shall also be contacting Hong Kong Consumers about the company and will also file an official complaint with Hong Kong police. I've been down this road before, Hong Kong companies giving the false impression that that they legitimate UK companies, and burying the fact in the small print of their terms and conditions. Yep, it's my own fault for not researching this company thoroughly enough and not reading the small print. ANYONE READING THIS BE WARNED. The possible saving isn't worth the grief with these people.
UPDATE. After notifying my intentions to the company via email, should I be dicked around any further, I got an immediate response and a full refund within a matter of days. Consequently I've added another star to the rating. A few on here - the legitimate ones I mean and they're easy to spot - have reported that they got their items on time, or even after a prolonged delay - it seems to be a bit of a lottery as to the standard of delivery and or after sales service one gets from them. Thanks to everyone else who contributed here, and good luck.

Short story first:
Everything went far better from what the reviews told me. Made a few queries to their customer service before making the order and the response to each message took max few hours. From the time of payment transaction to the time of package delivered (the lens sits on my office table right next to me as I write this review), it took 7 days. The package traveled from Hong Kong (visit to Leipzig Germany) to Turku Finland and no extra customs or taxes were required. Simply put: Perfect!
Long story:
I was looking to buy a good lens for my camera. Local store sells the lens for 2299€ and I was prepared for that price. Then I found that SimplyElectronics sells the same optics for 1670€. The difference between the prices is 629€! I started reading reviews about the company, and was reluctant to dig deeper because of the poor reviews. Still continued reading and after reading many review for a good few days, I got a conclusion that the company had either never failed to deliver the goods or return the money if the order was cancelled. I didn't mind for a months waiting if required. So I decided to send them a query about the item I was interested; how was the stock availability and about the customs/taxes that I didn't want to pay anymore. All my queries were answered in a very good time (a few hours at most), so I decided to make the order, which in fact they had already filled out for me, so all I had to do was log in my PayPal account and the transaction was already waiting for my acceptance at there. I accepted the transaction and I was replied that the order was "formally accepted." I got constant mails (well not spam-like-constant) about the delivery from start to end of the process, which I was pleased to have. Kind of made me feel like an important customer, maybe? It took 7 days (including a weekend) for the lens to arrive here. All custom check-ins and such were taken care of like promised, and the package was in good condition when opening it.
Conclusion:
I will absolutely do my business here again, and will promote the site to everyone I know. An outstanding performance if you ask me. Excellent!

It does say on the site that delivery would take between 7 and 14 working days,basically, the best part of 3 weeks so i was ready for a wait.So I ordered a Google nexus 4 16GB and started the process on the 10th of April 2013. I too went through the multiple status updates on the site which was very annoying, but every couple of days it progressed to the next one. There were about 7 in all which is ridiculous.I think they are there to make it look like there is something always happening with your order. Finally, on the 24th of April,it said my order had been shipped and gave me a tracking number with a courier company called Aramex. With most courier companys you can track your shipment across the world as it gets scanned into various places,but with aramex , nothing of the kind. Instead,on their tracking page the item remained "Forwarded to: Kowloon office hong Kong" for five days ., I rang the Aramex office in Ireland and the first time they hung up on me. The second time the girl took my details and said she would ring me back in a few minutes but never did.That was on the 30th of April....my phone arrived on the afternoon of the 1st of May but I remain seriously unimpressed by Aramex .It was really well packaged and when I unboxed it, all was as it should be. This is not my first transaction with SE,I bought a Canon 580ex2 from them back in 2009 and it was actually delivered fairly fast. TBH, after reading all the reviews on here,I doubt I'll be using them again, but i just wanted to state for the record that my experience was a good one. Nothing more than a scam company from Hong Kong.take you're money, don't send you're goods and then an endless battle to try to get a refund.will now set wheels in motion for a cybercrime case. Don't believe the good reviews, opinion is that these are written by employees. AVOID AT ALL COSTS.

as it was £60 cheaper than nearest competitor My first And last mistake was not checking this company out first.
Had I been aware that it was based in HK I would never have ordered because I wanted to take advantage of the Canon cash-back scheme and it does not apply to overseas suppliers.
The website is very good the People look European and the site is written in perfect English,only when you look at the term and conditions do you discover they are based in HK.
After many frustrating calls to customer services hearing all the excuses listed on this site with my order status displaying for the last 7 days ORDER AWAITING DISPATCH I mad a final call to customer services and said to the Lady please be aware I have in front of me a "Stock List" of all excuses you had told other customers (from this site) and she still began to reel off tthe excuse about A Backlog of orders I said stop before you finsh and allow me to complete the Quote and as I read it out to her she followed me word for word and completed the excuse,then offered me the 3 in 1 cleaning kit ROFL
I then called my bank and claimed my money back and was told they had many claims regarding Simply Electronics and they along with other banks were conducting Fraud investigations against them "SO BE WARNED" DO NOT BUY FROM THEM AT ANY PRICE Unless you have money and time to waste.

Purchased the excellent Canon sx50 HS bridge camera from simply electronics due to their competitive price and didn't realise the camera would be shipped from China. The camera arrived within 14 days and was well packaged so even the box was in perfect condition. Many thanks & a recommended retailer
I ordered an Asus Transformer Pad back on 06/08/2012. After a much longer than quoted wait for any sign of it being despatched, I decided to cancel the order. I spoke to a customer services person over the phone who informed me that I needed to email them. I sent the email and after a few months, nothing. I have since called several more times and sent further emails and almost a year on still nothing. I have tried calling again today only to find that as soon as you choose either option 1 or 2, the line goes dead. I'll be joining the extremely long line of people reporting to this company to fraud investigators.

I have order nexus 4 from simplyelectronics and after 15 working days and no reply from them, i ask if i can refund. the answer was

I ordered an iPad in mid-march. My order was put on hold because they wanted verification of address and other personal details which I said i wouldn't give because it seemed a strange request, especially since they had already taken the money from my credit card account. I told them to cancel the order. They said that after some research it wouldn't be necessary to supply these details so I continued with the order.
Weeks later my order is still on hold so I e-mail them but I don't get a response.
I then call them. There is no clear reason why my order was on hold. I asked if they had the ipads in stock, they said they did, so again I asked why the delay or hold and at that point they said they needed to research the situation. I told them I wanted communication of when to expect the order in the next few days or I would cancel.
I never received a reply so I cancelled. They acknowledged the cancellation but I have not received my refund despite several communications and their only response is "very sorry, customer care is very important to us, your account is on hold.'
It is now clear after reading the reviews that I am one of many and I have no other recourse but to submit a frauds claim with my credit card and report them to trading standards organisation.
