Think first

I have use toolstation loads in the past and never had a problem but thats because I have alwaysed used the store. Paid for turbo delivery "before 12 noon" now I order a intearier door and some screws now the stews come at 8:30am and was told door come by a special courier so they don't get damaged, later that day "11:30" I got a text saying the door would be coming between 12 and 6 and I was very angry with that as I had to re-book for the carpenter and now he can't come until 2 weeks time, I phoned up toolstation and they was just denying it was there fault and blamed wickes but they said they will reimburse my £5 to my bank and 2 days later it still has now been put back but I did phone wickes that day and they got hold of the courier and they said the door will be coming between 3 and 6 and they said there was nothing they could do so that was it then at 1:30 the door arrived so wicked was wrong there and more than likely didn't phone the courier so I have warned you. Sorry about my punctuation.

Toolstation

Fast delivery, Excellent prices and Faultless service

I have used this company a few times over the past few years and I can only recommend them, almost everything has been delivered next day(even though I chose the free option... which you only need to spend a minimum of £10 for unlike it's rival that requires £50 Min spend).

I did have radiators delivered last week where the top and side grilles were slightly damaged, so I e-mailed them on the Friday and Monday a new set arrived. Brilliant!!

Makita Drill Failed, only used twice.

Went to local Toolstation at Redditch and ordered the Makita HP2051 drill. On second use the drill started smoking wiith blue flashes from motor and then tripped circuit breaker. Took back to Toolstation expecting a refund as they did not have any corded percusion drills in stock of any make at around the same price and told I could not be given a refund and they will order another drill. That left me with no drill over the weekend and I had to borrow a drill from neighbour. Now being informed by Toolstation call centre that I should have been informed that Makita do not offer refunds only replacements in first 30 days and then repair, absolute crap. I was not told in the store and the website does not inform you of this as I have just looked at buying another of the same from the website. I do not want a replacement as this will probably fail. Not a large spender at Toolstation probably £1,000 per year, but that is the last I will be spending as Screwfix are just down the road.

Toolstation

Well priced, questionable customer service

I have placed many orders with Toolstation over the last couple of years and they have all been fine, with excellent pricing.

However, I purchased some work trousers from them recently and they turned out to be the wrong size. The chap at our local branch didn't seem to want to help, so a manager came along and accused us of putting a small paint stain on the trousers so they didn't have to change them for another size. We purchased 2 pairs and the other pair was absolutely fine, plus we hadn't been anywhere near paint, so can only imagine the small stain was a manufacturing fault. After much persuasion, we managed to get a replacement pair.

So in general, good pricing, but not very happy with the service received.

ABSOLUTE SHOWER - MINWORTH BIRMINGHAM

I bought a number of tubes of decorators caulk on 3rd March 2012. I finally got round to using them on 10th March and found that on the first tube used the caulk came out of the base of the nozzle rather than the top. On inspection I foung a small slit at the base of the screw on the tube. I was going to forget about it and then found that another of the tubes had the same defect so decided to return them. - they cost £1-16 each plus vat..
I was staggered to find that there was an issue with returning faulty goods. The manager disputed that the goods left the warehouse with this damage. Effectively calling me a liar and a crook. I had to point out that they were breaking the law in supplying faulty goods not of merchantable quality. I eventually obtained replacements.
I am absolutely livid

IF IT LOOKS TOO GOOD TO BE TRUE...

My first time shopping with Toolstation will be my last. On their website they clearly stated that my parcel, which I ordered on Friday 8th March, would be delivered on Monday 11th March. This was free express delivery (on orders over £10) and I was well chuffed with what seemed like a great service. They also stated that if I gave my mobile number they would send an SMS to let me know the progress of my order.
I cancelled my plans for the Monday so that I would be in to take delivery, made sure that my mobile was switched on, and got on with my weekend.
On Saturday afternoon I discovered a card from Yodel stuck in my letterbox. None of the boxes giving reasons for non-delivery were filled in, nor were any options for re-delivery ticked. In a blank space at the top of the card the chap had scrawled 'left safely at number 60' (I live at 158!).
I'd received no messages from Toolstation at all. When I complained, I was told 'sorry your item was LATE arriving' (!) and further told that they do not and never have offered any SMS alerts (which I checked and it's still there in black and white on their website!) Also on their website and in their catalogue they state that they deliver between Mon-Fri. Extremely misleading if you are taking time off to be in.
As for Yodel - why on earth does anyone use these people? It doesn't make any business look good if the carrier they use in unreliable.
I was offered a refund, by which time I'd managed to locate my parcel, but over all it was not a good experience and I wouldn't recommend them. I'd say don't be beguiled by the prices or the free delivery. If it looks too good to be true then it generally is. And in future I will email companies and ask who their carrier is so that I can avoid Yodel.
(Note: having to use a friend's facebook ID in order to post here. This is a genuine review.)

Toolstation

Couldn't ask for better

I ordered 2 hand saw on Wednesday afternoon 24 hrs later i am actually using them! This is not the first time i've had next day delivery (at no extra cost) but the prices are so good i do use them a lot.

Toolstation

Broken promises, very slow to act.

Lights ordered for a job Midday wednsday.Pre midday thursday delivery selected +£5 ok. Thursday 11.05am phone call from a blocked no; telling me half the order is not in stock. What about the rest? NOT EVEN SHIPPED!!!.
Quick 90 mins dash to screw fix.
I would nt use this firm if you are a contractor, just not reliable.

Toolstation

Better than Screwfix.

Prices are better. you only need to spend £10 in-order to get free delivery the next day.
With Screwfix you have to spend £50 to get delivery. Far better for the DIYer with small orders.

Toolstation

fair prices, poor service

prices ok but delivery poor, week later and still hasn't turned up. yodel couriers dont turn up and deliver on the right day, hard to rearrange delivery as toolstation staff just want to get you of the phone.

Toolstation

Toolstation

Good prices

Great for diy goods. Always well stocked at about half the price of B&Q, Homebase etc.Would give them 5 stars but deducted 2 as they now use Yodel as their couriers.

Toolstation

Competive prices

I tend to find Toolstation one of the cheapest suppliers for DIY materials and are rarely out of stock. I only use the website now for pricing unless I need a large order delivered as a Toolstation warehouse has opened locally.

Tool quality can vary in the power tools range but this is more a reflection on brands such as Silverline rather than Toolstation themselves.

Recently purchased 5L of Danish oil from Toolstation as it was considerably cheaper than other DIY and trade outlets.

Toolstation

snelle service, scherpe prijzen

zeer breed assortiment met scherpe prijzen.
24 uurs levering en een goede service

Toolstation

Fine

Bought a low cost order online (~£10) which was delivered quickly with free p&p. No complaints.

Toolstation

Great apart from one thing

I like Toolstation, keep finding tools/accessories etc that make the job easier and there's such a range and such good prices its hard to top them.

Here's the only odd thing. If you go in at 10 minutes to closing time the staff are virtually chasing you out the store. If management won't pay them an extra 15 mins to them clear up / cash up etc. after you've gone, why not just bring forward the closing time instead of chivvying customers and bolting the door early?

Anyway that aside, good all round.

Toolstation

Good supplier of many diy needs

Have used Toolstation dozens of times with no bad experiences..... their item range is smaller than Screwfix (who are owned by B&Q by the way) BUT they dont charge for delivery for an order of £10 or more. (Screwfix min. order is £50)

Delivery is usually next working day but I always allow 2 days mentally to be safe
I usually order £10 to £30 size orders but have purchased tools of £350 and more from them.... I trust this company anduse them regularly

Toolstation

Good prices, good delivery & good service

I have used this company many, many times. As a few others have said, it would be good if they had a wider range, especially more high-end stuff. But if they have what you want, they will deliver it fast, and usually cheaper than screwfix. On the odd occaision when something has gone wrong, customer service has always been very quick to sort things out.

Yes, they do sell a few very cheap items, but you get what you pay for - where ever you shop.

Appalling service from Toolstation – do not use them!

I’ve been waiting for 5 days for a delivery from Toolstation . I phone twice a day and get two different answers every time. They constantly blame it on their delivery company Yodel.

They just don’t care about customer service – my advice is to stay well clear of them until they stop using Yodel as a delivery partner.

Toolstation

Decent

Great prices, but some product quality is poor.

Toolstation

Good service, price and minimum order value

Great when you run out of something. Just pop onto the website or call their freefone and the order arrives next day. Excellent value on most lines although choice is not as great as Screwfix.

£10 minimum order means you don't have to wait to stack up several things to make a minimum order.

On the very rare occasion things go wrong, customer services are helpful and have sorted out any issues quickly.

A bit bigger range and they'd get 5 stars no trouble.

Toolstation

Sometimes cheaper than trade

Great stocks held at their shops, and the online side is pretty good too. But the best part of toolstation is just how cheap some of their stuff is, especially for plumbing parts bought in reasonable quantities. I don't know why consumers don't just shop here instead of B&Q etc where prices are much higher.

My only criticism is that I wish their range could be much wider.

I have read the comments here on poor service and on poor delivery. That's never been my experience, I look forward to dealing with them, they are always helpful and informed.

Toolstation

Very Poor

Very dissapointed with my first delivery from tool station as it was my first delivery it has to go to my home address. waited all day for delivery and at 17.05 the delivery firm told me that they could not deliver the two radiators as one was badly damaged, After contacting tool station i was told that they would send out another but not the next day, When i asked for a refund i was told it would take up to 2 weeks, BUYER BEWARE TOOL STATION ARE GOOD AT TAKING YOUR MONEY BUT POOR AT RETURNING IT, Use them only for pick up items from the store

Toolstation

A Solid 4 Stars

Stock levels and delivery always very good, packaging sometimes less so, but generally no complaints. The only time I've had a missing item it was sent out the next day with no fuss - I was actually a bit taken aback by how helpful the person was on the phone! A big improvement would be allowing reviews of products on the site like Screwfix do, If anyone is reading please consider adding this!

Toolstation

Superb

I have now placed three orders with toolstation and have been extremely impressed with every element of their service. Prices are rarely beaten elsewhere on the internet. I have already recommended them to several other parties.
10/10

Toolstation

Good prices and selection, quick delivery and good customer service

Competitive prices.
Good customer service when things break with a quick replacement or refund.
Delivery free on orders over £10
Use them frequently

Toolstation

Appalling returns policy

Bought a bosch GWS 850 grinder the most expensive of toolstations range. used it for 2 hours, it started to vibrate then ceased working. Returned to store for a replacement. No such luck I'm told to return it to bosch it'll be sorted within 48 hours. Not so it'll be 10 working days say bosch. Nobody thought to mention this policy when I bought the machine. Spoke to toolstation they say it is bosch's policy. Bosch when I spoke to them said it was toolstations policy. Checked with screwfix and B and Q they exchange or replace all faulty items with 12 month guarantee. That is the type of service I expect from a shop. That is why I buy from shops not the internet.
I need a grinder now, not in 2 weeks time. So I'm off to screwfix to buy a makita. I'll then have 2 grinders sitting in my garage that probably won't see the light of day again for months or years after I've completed my project.
As far as toolstation and bosch are concerned my advice is 'buyer beware'.
I need an angle grinder now not in 2 weeks time.

Toolstation

Warrington Store 5 star

Toolstation are better on price and service than b&q trade.

Just wish they would increase the range.

Toolstation

Extra speedy and well priced

Very quick and accurate delivery - no fuss.

Compared several tool websites before selecting Toolstation. They have actual 'bricks and mortar' stores and a telephone number which means they can be contacted if something goes wrong - which it did not.

Toolstation

Excellent service and great value

I purchased a few items from Toolstation on my 1st order; this consisted of tools and components for the installation of chemical fixings in my garage.

On 1st use, the gun broke and I lost a substantial amount of polyester resin. I contacted the company and without reservation sent out a new gun and resin tube via next day delivery.

Fantastic service and I would certainly use again, they were also cheaper than Screwfix.

Top Marks from me.

Toolstation

*****

Fantastic company, next day delivery if you order by 5pm, if on the rare chance a faulty produce is sent or damaged in transit they replace it withoutb any hassle.

Toolstation

Avoid at all costs

I ordered 2 Geneva oak veneer doors from this company at 2.30pm on Wed 9/2. I needed the doors for Friday and the website clearly stated 'Express Next Working day delivery Thursday 10th Feb', for delivery any time before 6pm. Waited in all day Thurs. No show - not a word from Toolstation that there might be a delay. On the Friday morning I called Toolstation, got a telephonist who couldn't be more indifferent to the situation telling me doors wouldn't go out until Friday 11th Feb at the earliest, and that my doors were on their way on a PM delivery. Unfortunately I had the carpenter waiting on hand ready to fit the doors (in the naieve expectation that they might actually arrive in time) and I had to send him away.
Toolstation; don't promise next day delivery if you can't fulfil;it messes people about big time and makes them not want to use your company again. If there's a problem, communicate to your customer. I am out of pocket and doorless because I made the foolish error of choosing Toolstation to supply my items. I have no faith in their ability to do what they say they are going to do, and would not use themagain.

Toolstation

Well Stocked, Very Good Value, Good Service

Very competitive prices for tools and equipment for the trade and the DIYer. Free delivery for an order value of £10 or more. Next day delivery for orders placed before 17:00. Stores in many towns now too. I have placed many orders with them over the past 4 years, and have had very few problems. Check them out and you are unlikely to be disappointed.

Toolstation

good value fast delivery

ordered some airgrates, good price and free delivery, arrived a couple of days later, everything very straightforward, thank you.

Toolstation

Harold Wood store

on entering the store it looked very clean and presentable i was approached by an advisor a scruffy young lady who spoke as if she had a bag full of marbles in her mouth. the other guys who worked with her looked miserable
it looked like i had just walked into a funeral parlour, then i heard one of the advisor's tell another one that there system is crap and it doesn't work and to change the cable on the computer it mite work then.

This has got to be one of the worst shopping experience i have ever had, and have a look at the scruffy young lady i felt sorry for her i think a good shower would sort her out.
