Hi, it is will great surprise that I find myself writing this as I don't usually give reviews. I have to to say that when I called to place an order I thought I would be dealt with in the usual way. Not on this occasion. Geoff was amazing and took me through the process in the most patient and considerate way I have ever experienced. There was an issue with my non-US credit card and it was no problem, just a few extra steps to be taken, some on my end and some on his, and success. He was in no rush to move on to the next customer or that I was moving too slowly and he had things to do or anything like that. I can say only that it was a so unusually good experience that I find myself writing this review. I cannot recommend them enough, an example to everyone.
I just finished installing my second Weaknees HD replacement in my second TiVo.
I keep my TiVo's a long time (with their lifetime subscriptions), and after a number of years the telltale de-pixilation and picture breakup begins to appear. Weaknees has for years carved out a niche as the TiVo specialists. Their HD replacements work flawlessly and install in about 15 minutes. They come with the only tools you need and with superb instructions.
Plug the TiVo back in...and after the usual TiVo setting itself up again screens, all is well. (And now I have 2 TB's of space to record on!)

I have only made two negative reviews in my life so for me to make one says a great deal about my level of frustration. I read in an earlier review that this company is great when they are selling you something but that's where the good service/communication ends and I couldn't agree more. My DVR was sent in for a warranty repair because it completely stopped working (my $100 expense). Two weeks later it comes back and is doing the exact same thing I sent it to them to repair. To keep this review brief I will just say that their inability to communicate in a consistent and above board level was astonishing. Between their inability to competently repair my unit and a pure indifference towards my investment and time I would say that the concept of what they advertise is great. Their ability to follow through with that concept isn't.
Helped me very, very adequately with my TiVo needs and didn't push any other products! Very patient with me on phone!
I just had to get online and spend the time to review weaknees. I never waste my time doing this, but honestly, this company deserves it!! Their support is just incredible. Sent them an email on EASTER SUNDAY and I got a response in under an hour! And this was not some generic autoresponder. i got a real response, with a real honest answer, from someone with great tivo knowledge. i asked the same question when I called tivo's toll-fee number, and after an hour on hold, they were clueless. they had no idea how to help me. And after I complained, they sent me to weaknees.com. NOW I KNOW WHY!! Why bother with Tivo when you can get to weaknees--and get better, faster, more accurate answers! I could go on and on, but give them a chance....they deserve your business.

My old TiVo hard drive seemed to be dying after seven years of good service so I did a little searching for a replacement.
Upon finding WeaKnees.com I did a search for my antique Hughes TiVo unit and found a replacement drive, twice as big as the original drive, for just slightly over the price of a bare unformatted unit.
The unit arrived very soon and I installed it in about 15 minutes including a nice cleaning of the unit, so believe how easy the process is as descibed in the instructions. The two necessary tools were even provided so I didn't even visit my toolbox.
WeaKnees has a good product and great support; look no more to upgrade your TiVo drive.

Thanks for the prompt delivery and great product. Everything worked great. The instructions were easy to follow. Anyone considering buying a cheaper hard drive and formatting themselves should forget about it. Weaknees delivers a great product, saves you time and it works out of the box. Thanks again.

I thought I was out a lot of money when my 3.5 year old series 3 Tivo (which cost me $700+) hard drive died. Tivo wanted me to shell out money for a replacement unit and pay for a new lifetime service. Weaknees sent me a replacement hard drive that was twice as big as my original. The instructions to install it were very well done and I was up and running in just a short time. I would recommend them to any Tivo owner who needs a new or bigger hard drive. Thanks Weaknees!

I was really, really in a jam. It was Thursday night before a three-day weekend, and my TiVo crashed. It just up and died. I had no clue what to do. We had family coming to watch the NCAA playoffs on our new HDTV this weekend. I frantically searched Google looking for someone to repair my TiVo. Friday morning, I contacted weaknees by online chat. I'll skip to the end: About 20 minutes later, I had an order in for a hard drive, which they shipped to me overnight for Saturday delivery and I was up and running in 30 minutes flat. They offered me a flat-fee repair, and I would have gone for that if I had had the time. But I was in a PANIC!
Do not hesitate to use them....they are top notch!!

Hard to say anything but a total two thumbs up here. Got the referral from TiVo the mothership. Said to use this company. Company had what I needed in stock. Shipped it same-day. Got it next-day. Fixed my problem totally and gave me more space. Couldn't be better.

Had a problem. Found this website, and I was about to buy three parts to fix my TiVo (it's a DirecTV TiVo - and they seem to be the kings!).
I called before I placed my order. They told me *not* to order one of the parts - that I probably didn't need it. When does a company ever do that?
We'll, they were right!
Next, I screwed something up on a Sunday. I called - closed. I emailed - got an email back in less than 2 hours! On a Sunday!
Seriously - this is THE place for TiVo stuff. They have everything you need, they know what they're doing, and they're FAST!

Just got some more units from them to set up some new systems in my house. Fabulous! Super helpful on the phone with me and fast (and free) shipment. Tons of space to record - I'll have hours and hours of Olympics.

Charged for overnight shipping that took 5 days to get from SoCal to NorCal... wasted $25.00 on Overnight shipping and when I wrote into support telling them this was unacceptable I received an insulting email back.
Good thing they hire such competent people who know how rough it is to keep a business going in this economy - maybe the management will clean house for Christmas and save their business? Sadly I paid more to buy from them this time. Since I had purchased from them in the past and had a good experience a year ago I thought it was worth the extra money to go with them, DRV Upgrade will get my business now http://www.dvrupgrade.com
FWIW. I was a repeat customer with Weaknees and I have spent over $1000 with these clowns. I ordered a new DVR TIVO hard drive ( after their tech told me that is what I needed for my DVR with a locked up condition) It arrived and it was installed and it didn't fix my DVR. They said that it was bad and I would be charged for a 2nd hard drive (until it was shipped back to them ) The 2nd new hard drive didn't fix my problem either. I was going on vacation and needed it fixed so I ordered a complete DVR unit that did work. When I went to return the 2 hard drives that where purchased from them they said that I waited too long ( several days / weeks past their term and conditions) After several e-mails and complaints to their management they would only credit me with a 45% restocking fee. Nice.
They are very help full when you are thinking of spending hard earned money, but if you have any problems with their products they will shut you down and keep your money. I suggested to their manager that their poor customer service ( in which I was charged for 2 of their hard drives which I didn't even need ) Then they had the nerve to charge me 45% restocking fee ( which should have 15% ) They told me that I was lucky I got anything as it was past their generous return policy.
One of direct tv receivers w/tivo was dying normally i have ordered a used one on ebay. I was doing some searching and came across weaknees after reading some reviews and information on there web sight I decided to order a new hardrive.
The shipped it out very quick and it arrived on time from ups except the drive delivered it to the wrong address. Ups was pretty useless they told be it can take up to 8 business to track down the package basically i just have to wait. However weekness was very helpful within a few day over a weekend weekness agreed to overnight me a new one and they would deal with ups after they shipped it.
None the less weekness was very very patient with all my fustratation with ups. The hard drive installation was extremely easy and is working flawlessly.
I would recommend weeknees to anyone there web sight is very informative. They have a great forum section and seem to answer questions very quickly and only sell you what you need.
