I must sadly admit that I will no longer be using Wex to purchase my camera or any other optical equipment from. Earlier this week I ordered a spotting scope and paid the extra for next day delivery. Unfortunately, mistakes can happen and I was sent the wrong scope. Wex did offer to reimburse the delivery charge but this did no way recompense me for the fact that I was stuck in the house for 8 hours waiting for the courier to arrive. I appreciate that Wex have no control over the couriers but merely offering me a £4.99 refund for wasting 8 hours of my time is not what I call customer service. I explained to the Wex representative that I would have to go out for half an hour in the morning of the day the courier was due. He suggested that I put a note on my front door for the courier explaining that there would be nobody in for a short period of time! Such excellent advice and am open invitation to all potential burglars
I have been a customer here for many years and would until today have agreed with the glowing feedback left by others. Yesterday I had occasion to contact customer services again about an order. This time my order had not arrived on time. I was promised a follow up phone call with detail for my missing order. It did not happen. Based on recent experiences I know they won't care when I say - WEX you've lost another customer.
Spoke to an employee for some product advice... I knew more about the product than he did. Sounded like he was reading direct from their website when I asked a couple of basic questions. Even so, I ordered £600 of lighting equipment and paid over the odds for it (over £50.00 cheeper at Calumet), but accepted the price, because they guaranteed next day delivery. And guess what.... no delivery the next day. On speaking to customer services that afternoon (still enough time to fix the order), I was told they didn't know what had happened, but the order hadn't been sent out and that they could resend it the next day. When I told them I was flying to a photo shoot first thing the next day and needed the equipment, they said there was nothing they could do. This was despite them being within easy driving distance of the delivery address. Apparently, it was all to do with insurance. When I told the employee that it wasn't a question of "cant", but "unwilling" to do anything about it, the rude little man at the end of the phone became short and dismissive. So I cancelled the order.
Thanks Wexphotographic for a truly abysmal level of service- I had heard several stories about your incompetence when it comes to dispatching orders on time, sending the wrong orders and poor customer service, but this is the first time I've been a victim of it. Mind you, it's the first (and last time) I've ever ordered from you. Statistically, in my experience, you've been incompetent and lazy, 100% of the time... good work fellas. Never again will I waste my time with you... Back to Calumet Photographic for me... at least they have a concept of what it takes to run a business you can trust.... and they always give great service... and in the many years I've been using them, they've never messed up like you clowns.
Don't believe all these glowing reviews about Wex.
I ordered a lens from them and it was delivered promptly, however on opening the box the lens was faulty so I returned the same day.
I then waited....and waited....and two weeks later I get an email
saying it is with our returns dept....I then called and asked when would I get my refund....soon was the reply, intact another two weeks!!!
So in total a month!! and did they refund my postage £10 to return it to them NO!!
I lost out from my order and they had my money for a month so this is why I am giving them 1 star, pretty hopeless service and I will never order from the again!
Bought a Canon EF-S 18-200mm f3.5-5.6 IS Lens, not the cheapest but a fair price and after a search on here for them thought they looked good. I was not wrong, great service, cannot go wrong, UK stock, no grey imports, no complaints, will use again
Ordered a lens from these guys on friday evening, just before the deadline for next day delivery, paid the extra for a Saturday delivery and they didn't let me down.
Lens is perfect and actually the same price that the Hong Kong dealers are asking except with these guys you get a UK warranty etc.
I will definitely use again if the price is right and it is good to see a UK company keeping up with the overseas big boys.

I would also like to commend their advisor ,Paul (I hope I have his name correct and if not I apologise) for under promising and over delivering on the delivery of my Nikon D7100. It was a pleasure to deal with someone who did not make promises that could not be fulfilled - as it happens the D7100 has arrived 28/3 which was well ahead of what was expected but has proven the high standard of service I felt I was getting.

Wex Photographic firm is a fantastic firm to deal with and one which I have used on multiple occasions. I have never had any problems with them and they have always been curtious ,enthiusatic, and proffessional all that you could ask of a company. There return service is really good and is dealt with in an expediant manner,I have only dealt with the return service a couple of times and it was not down to faulty goods it was simply the goods did not do what i needed them to do.
Would I reccomend Wex Photographic. Thats an easy one Wex is how a online company should be run, so yes I would have no qualms in recommending them highly.

This is the third time I've used WEX for a large photographic purchase, this time the new D7100 body, plus some accessories, the order process, delivery & genuine UK stock meant all went smoothly!! A great business worth supporting!!
My Canon 5DM3 failed 5 months after I bought it from Wex, on a trip to Antarctcic. They were very helpful in passing it on promptly to Canon warranty repair centre. Canon took weeks to come back with an opinion in spite of regular prompting from WEX and calls from myself, as I was going on another photographic trip abroad and was desperate to have a camera. So WEX lent me a 5DM1 camera postage free (delivered overnight and collected) whilst we waited and waited and waited for Canon centre. So full marks for WEX and no marks for Canon warranty centre for customer service.
Canon eventually said the camera had liquid damage and was not warranty covered or repairable. So much for enhanced semiprofessional 5DM3 weather seals!
I purchased a new camera bag from Wex and it was fantastic value just as I have come to expect from them delivery was quiock and on line chat really good I recommend you shop there for all things photographic
Have full confidence in always purchasing on-line with Wex. Product range and pricing is spot on. Delivery and packaging is faultless. Got my first dslr from them-as warehouse express-8 years ago and the service then and now is exemplary. Looking forward to purchasing a v early birthday and Christmas prezzie in the form of a canon 5d mkIII from them ...when funds available!!

One minor quibble: I received a misleading email which said I had to call Wex to guarantee delivery . I called, was told delivery would be sent that day, my order arrived later the same day!. It seemd an unnecessary call and whoever answered the phone should have known my order had been posted,

Wex has one of the largest selection of photography products I found on the web, they offer competitive prices and I have always found their customer service helpful and friendly. They offer next day delivery so if you need something in a rush.
I ordered 5 items from wex and paid for next day delivery before 10:30. One of my items was out of stock, but they sent this next day delivery too for no extra charge once it was back in stock. Their customer service is amazing. All items arrived on time, well packaged and in perfect condition.
