stroppy delivery
I ordered 2 bags of 60 kg compost and 2 15 kg compost and a fair bit of other stuff as being in a wheelchair I thought it would be easier..ordering was simple and i ordered for next day delivery which i got, but there was nothing on the website about the delivery guy not going to deliver the big bags to the door just because he had to walk about 8 ft, he said if he had know he would of brought his sack truck(eh why do they not carry this anyway) and i wasn't asked when placing the order how far he would have to walk, he also said we a delivery men not removal men..anyway he delivered the items and i told him to put them in the bedroom as its a bungalow and is nearer to the door he was using..and no way was he going to take them out the back..I would use wilkinsons again..just hope don't get the same happy delivery. or that wiil be my last..

Not as good as they used to be!
A handful of years back you couldn't beat them. You would get identical products sold elsewhere for considerably more. For example 2.5L Diamond Hard varnish £26.99 vs £35 in B&Q. That was 5-10 years ago.
When Woolworths existed Wilko prices were great. Once Woolys went, all the Wilko prices went up. They are still cheaper on some things than the likes of Tesco, but certainly not always any more, and you should check first.
I know of quite a few products sold by Wilko that are cheaper elsewhere - and that never used to happen.
A new store has opened near where I live, and that absolutely kicks Wilko into touch.
My visits to Wilkinson are a fraction of what they used to be. Higher prices (price jumps of 40% common) staff arguing with you when items/food that is sitting in the reduced section scans as full price.
Only last week I had the supervisor arguing, only for her to be proved wrong when I proved that the items should have been reduced after all.
Another story of getting carried away with yourself and biting the hand that feeds you......

Would use them again
You can't fault the value for money.
Don't bank on the four day in-store pick-up time advertised on-line.
They should be honest and say 4-6 days. Looses them one star.
The store phones when the goods are ready for collection, which is great, although the website tracking says goods are on their way (?)

I use Wilkinsons a lot for garden products, they are realistically priced and will deliver, which saves you carrying a load of stuff back to the car.
My one gripe when shopping instore is it can be hard work getting through the checkout as they can be very busy.
