I made few sites in flash and I was quite thrilled with possibilities to build sites on my own without having phd in html or flash. However html5 work-space , which is now main option for building wix (flash is almost hidden on the menu) is not fulfilling promises they gave more than a year ago. It is still in Beta and with many bugs and issues.
While editing in html5 pages keep switching one over the other without control, so you have to go to navigation menu again and again to somehow get the page you want to work on to remain after you click on an element on it to edit it. Only thorough cleaning of chrome cache in chrome settings ,and crap cleaning your pc helps for a while .(5 minutes!)
Site in html is only 980 pixels wide and you can't change it.No way...they say it is because of Ipads etc. But where is the option -fit to browser- like in old flash templates.
Images are completely unorganized and changing gallery layout is a time taking job. It's all just a huge pile of images and you always have to dig deep to find the one you need. Recently they added this option for flash sites , but not yet for html, and this is a BASIC option.
Also ,there's no backup option , only on wix you can have your 'backup', not on your pc. I suggested them to make some kind of zip file with password they'll make so that I can't open it if they don't want me to have the whole site. I feel uncomfortable relying only on wix servers after working for a month or so on a site, I would like to have backup.
So what can I do but to save pages with webpage grabber or save as in folders , one by one.
Html components remain active when switching pages so video keeps playing in the other window etc. They have support for Vimeo and Youtube but any other html embedded video will have this problem. And if you want to build a site for your company it can't be professional with youtube or vimeo logo on each video.
There's no save as option, so you can't make a copy of your site, you have to ask wix to do that and then wait for a day or two till they make it. They save you have a history list of backups but I don't need to restore my site to some history state but to make a separate copy to make experiments on it or to use it as a template for a new site or so.
You won't believe, each problem you have to solve by posting message on the forum. then you have to follow up updates...sometime it takes few days to solve small issue.
It was huge mistake to deal with this company
I echo the opinions of others on this site. This company do not seem very professional in their approach to customer service, even though they are based in New York - one of the most demanding cities in the world!
I have been involved in websites for over 18 years and have never come across such poor customer service. When I complained about this, they simply fobbed me off and made my complaint private so that no other visitors could see my negative comments. I find this completely unacceptable, rude and shows a total lack of regard for their paying customers.
I have cancelled all of my subscriptions to them and will not be using them in future.
Very disappointed with service being a long time Wix user. Company has lack of personal service using generic answers and directs you to forum. I would rather pay extra for the service and have a more personalised help. Living in Australia with the time difference made answers to my questions long and drawn out. Other web builders I use have live chat and will issue you with a case manager.
I generally found American companies to have a much superior Customer Service than Australian but cannot express how disappointed I have been with the lack of GENUINE communication from Wix. Yes, they do answer you, but not impressed by the content. I believe they they have lost site of the big picture and unfortunately now not looking after their customers who helped them become successful. As my subscriptions become due and payable I will most likely move my sites to other providers unless things change.

I liked Wix at first. Used it to build my company page. Problem 1: The mobile editor that I'm paying them to to use NEVER OPENS! Problem 2: The only way to ask them what's going on is to post a thread in the support message board (yeah, very helpful to have to wait days for a response). Of course when I do get a response I'm told it's my computer. Um, no it's not. My computer is fine. I can open pop up windows on any other site on the net. My java is fine, my AVG is turned off, I've cleared my cache, all the stupid reason they find to blame it on. Guess what, it's not me, it's you. So now I'm paying to NOT be able to update my mobile site, which is one of the main reasons I chose wix.
Wix, understand this, you need a customer service department, You need them to be able to get on the phone with people. You need to fix the reasons your pop up windows aren't working. Just make them NEW windows and make your customers happy. Your Customers are NOT happy with your service.
I'm just about done with them. If they can't help me update my mobile site the next time they respond to my message board plea, I'm canceling my subscription.
I am a user who signed up for premium services back in April 2012 when they launched their HTML5 editor. One of the reasons I signed up for premium paid services was under the pretence that they would be releasing a native HTML5 blogging feature. They blatantly communicated that this feature would be available within a month or so of launching their HTML5 editor but after 1 year this feature is still not available to users despite the loud protests in the support forums. Instead they have focused their time and energy on many applications and features that users have not requested.
This is incredibly poor service in my book. Don't get me wrong though, I generally like the features and functionality that Wix offers at a decent price, but when a company breaks promises in an extreme way and offers to transparency into the timeline and development of the blogging feature, then I am hugely disappointed.
It's embarrassing to put it mildly.
Site - great!
Customer service - 0 outta a 100. They don't read the emails you send, they can be days without replying and then send you some wrong answer, sending you back to the very wix.com page you're having trouble with. Staff OBVIOUSLY can't read, and don't care.
Too many customer service/support staff too. Strangely, always a new person answering your emails, every few hours (as long as it's an email they want to answer). Something wrong. Too many staff to be genuine, AND to be getting everything wrong. Must be same people using pseudonyms.
How long they've been around, and who the managers/owners are, what's their address? They won't tell us, and we've asked them!
Be careful people.
(They can also close down any account any time, and delete 100s of hours of work, if they feel like it, and there's not much that you can do).
Note customer service is a lot different than customer support. I'm not talking technical issues with building my sight, I'm talking keeping your customers happy so that they spread good word about your product and will keep coming back for more: at this point I am SO never coming back for more and will discourage any and all people I breach the topic of website design with to steer clear. Now, my specific problem.
I had a previously owned domain name that needed re-newing and I wanted to finally build a website to support my business, in addition to the Facebook page and Etsy shop I already have. So, I did a little research on different website design platforms and found Wix to seem user friendly, professional looking etc. (which is was and is .. took me an afternoon to build my entire website and I'm no guru, that being said it does look pretty professional) so I decided to go ahead and secure my domain name through them, then I started to build my site. Built my site, realized I needed to upgrade my package in order to link to my domain name; not thrilled about having to drop more dough but at $8.95/mo, not a bank breaker. The upgraded package comes with vouchers, awesome right? Kinda. Facebook and Google vouchers -- cool, helpful, great, awesome .. and a voucher for a free domain name for a year! Bummer I just re-newed mine with them for 3 years and didn't realize I'd be getting this voucher. Well any considerable and legitmate company will have the customer service sense to refund the equivalent cost of 1 year for what I just paid them (mere minutes prior) for a 3 yr subscription, right? WRONG. I submitted my concern to their support page and got some generic, quite possibly computer generated response that basically said "SUCKA!!!"
Listen up WIX team, if you stumble across this, I'm not a lost cause, I like the website I built on your platform and will continue to maintain it if you get some customer service sense and throw me the $22.85 for a one year private domain name. It doesn't break my bank, so I know it doesn't break yours, it's the principle.
If I don't see the refund/money you can be sure I'll be canceling my subscription and telling everyone to stay far far away from WIX.

After dumping about 2k a year on sites that I didn't like and ended up deleting anyway, Wix is heaven sent for me. The editing is Elementary so I don't know why people are complaining. Another thing is you can't put a ton of crap on your page and expect the thing to load up in a flash when you first enter your site. Technology just isn't that fast yet, and if it is, it's way too costly right now. Anyway I give the site 5 out of 5 stars. Big ups to Wix, Peace...
I'm a premium user of Wix and pay monthly for the privilege. By all admission my site looks great and in the most part loads well. However, one particular page took over 45 seconds to load. On contacting Wix support I was told by several different members of the support team that it's the pictures causing slow loading times. So I adjusted them. No joy!!!
It took me to contact an independent software guy to sort the problem out. They then had the nerve to ask me to tell them how to do their job for them by sending the fixes. One team member made the mistake of telling me that free users get the same level of service as premium users, which outraged me as what are premium users paying for? Certainly not responses that I would expect from a secondary school IT student. Their excuses are poor, they have no clue how to fix technical issues, I had to seek it out for myself. They simply took my money and treated me as an after thought - www.writehouse.co.uk is a great site, but I designed and implemented that myself. When I needed the support the support team all simply gave the same answer, it's the pictures, which is hugely baffling considering that websites need to be able to support images of all sizes.
Love the site, loathe the service - my final thought DON'T EXPECT ANY ASSISTANCE.
I've been using wix for a couple years now. I use to have to rely on flaking friends of mine to build my websites for me. Wix was the first site that allowed me to take everything into my own hands, have total control of the look and updating. No more waiting on other people.
Sometimes there are very minor issues but I'm not gonna complain to much as I can see that wix is continuing to get better. I transitioned my Flash site to an HTML5 site with ease. I've cancelled other websites due to not needing them anymore and had no problems whatsoever.
All of the negative reviews I've seen on this site really surprise me as I seem to have a completely opposite experience. Maybe it's a lack of patience on the part of those users. I don't really know. My experience has been rewarding, and I've even made money thanks to wix.
I've had people tell me that the monthly payments are to high. Well, hiring a web designer and programmer is way to much for me to afford even if I could.
For now, wix is exactly what I need to present my work and sell my products. I have very much enjoyed my time creating these sites.
Their customer service is built around forums rather than being able to speak with someone. As a result customer service responses can take up to 48 hours or more before you even receive a response. If your question violates their terms and conditions they delete it and don't bother telling you why.
The system is designed only to be upgraded and you cannot downgrade at anytime. To downgrade you must cancel your subscription, get refunded if you are owed one and then purchase a whole new one. Very difficult to do and if you are over your 14 day trial you are going to pay double just to get your website back on their Premium packages.
The e-commerce portions is very poor and amateurish at that. It has some good features but appearance wise its very unappealing and I have actually lost customers as a result of its appearance.
Wix has some great features but they have a long way to go to become a leading website building company. They need to make customer service more available by phone, allow for downgrading of premium services and be more customer oriented rather than for making profit.
Hi, if you are reading this review and you are considering signing up and building your website with WIX, don't! I wish I had read the complaints and reviews on their own website's forums before I did so. I wish there was more publicity online about their appalling issues and inability/unwillingness to deal with them, such as the lack of compatibility with Pinterest and most of all, detrimental to any business hosting a website with wix, the loading time. Customers across the board complain that their websites load with a delay of 8 seconds plus (before it even starts rendering). Many customers don't get a reply at all ( I follow the topics on their forums so I know) and the reply I got was - " Your website is absolutely fine. Here are the stats: it loads in 6.7 secs). It is well known and recognised now that modern day users DO NOT wait 7 seconds for a page to load while looking at a blank white screen. They simply assume that the website is not funcioning and steer away. You end up with a massive bounce rate and any form of marketing or advertising you have invested into your business is money down the drain!! Do not sign up with WIX. It's as simple as that. This issue with their loading time has been going on since November 2012 and they are still not giving their customers (including myself) a time scale of when this might get resolved or what the problem is.
The second major issue is WIX's incompatibility with Pinterest, which again is massive downside to any business trying to be optimised on the web nowadays. Ironically, WIX recognise the marketing value of pinterest so they have it for themselves on their website but it is not available to customers! Lots of people have complained and keep complaining about this, yet apart from off-the-shelf answers like: "we listen to you and we are contstantly working on improving blah blah blah, this is on our list of priorities blah blah blah ..." nobody is getting any concrete dates nor answers as to why it is not possible yet after so many people voting for the feature.
PLEASE DO NOT SIGN UP WITH WIX!!!!
They are the most horrible company. Their customer service is a joke. I had two websites with wix. I signed up because of their beautiful templates. Please do not listen to their stock answers on here. TRUST ME, THEY DO NOT CARE, OR DO ANYTHING ABOUT WHAT YOU WANT. THEY JUST WRITE STOCK ANSWERS TO APPEASE YOU. I have called them several times and have talked to the highest manager there. He told me that I should just leave wix. Why was I calling? To inquire about the 3 missed deadlines on their ABSOLUTELY HORRENDOUS IMAGE ORGANIZATION AND REORDERING SYSTEM. I am talking about MS DOS days here. AND THEY WONT FIX IT. --every single image that you have, they lump it all into these tiny little pages of 3 images and to move one image you have to click and click and scroll, click and scroll, ten million times. --to move ONE image it took me 5 minutes!
They do NOT listen to their customers, no matter what they say. I have had the most horrible experience with a business that I have ever had. And yet it was so hard to leave because I had done all of this work that would be lost. But in the end, I just moved to Squarespace because they have everything wix has and waaaaay more. Not to mention amazing customer service. I cannot stress enough.... DO NOT SIGN UP WITH THESE PEOPLE. YOU WILL REGRET IT!!! Please don't make my mistake.

I am impressed with the ease with which the editor can be used to create effective website and was excited during the process to have come across this platform to make a really nice site, but once completed the design I published the site and can now not see a thing when I put in the web address in, the site is not active, any one can help at all? thanks
They don't let you fully close your account and they keep taking your money untill you find some way to stop there payments. Then the still send you emails about payments for more that a year. When you try to unsubscribe for there emails they do not let you do that either. Don't go near Wix they are terrible.
Wix is a great and convenient product for those who would like to create an attractive website for free. It took me 3 months to build my Wix site. I didn't have to pay them anything for the full use of their editor. That was really impressive to me. I had to use their online support, which was a little lacking, but luckily I came on here one day and saw that their phone number. I have been happy with their customer support ever since. I recently upgraded my site to the yearly unlimited package. I called in for help upgrading and they gave me a coupon for my package. I didn't even have to ask. Now that is amazing customer support! Lately it seems like every time I think about a feature I need, they add an app that does exactly what I need. How crazy is that? The best thing about it is that Wix is a really fast-growing company that doesn't stop at what has been already done. They are constantly improving their service. They are not afraid to explore new technologies and possibilities. They were the first HTML5 website builder. I read another review on here that said they have 30,000,000 users. I believe it. I imagine most of them are happy too. Thank you Wix.

I was able to build a fully functional site in less than a day!
Their editor is sooooooooo awesome!
Time to start making that MONEY!
Lauretta Zucchetti vond deze beoordeling nuttig
Look closely at the reviews and take them with a grain of salt. Do you really think they would have 30 million users if they had bad customer service or a crappy editor?
You will also notice that Wix is responding to nearly every complaint on here. They aren't hiding from their issues. There are facing them head-on.
Every time I have needed help, I call in to support and have someone on the phone within 3 minutes. They have 30 million users, and I only wait 3 minutes. How is that even possible? Sometimes I wait on hold 5 minutes before I can order a pizza at my local pizza place.
Sorry.. I'm done ranting.
The HTML5 templates are absolutely fantastic. Every day that I work on my site I am so impressed with how easy it is to make it look so gorgeous!
It's the little things they do that blow my mind.
Did you know that they add the grid lines that show you how big to build your site, so you can easily make a site that not only looks amazing on a browser, but also looks great on any mobile device.
Who else does that??
You can build your site FOR FREE!! Yeah, seriously...... FREE! Every single feature available in the editor, is available to EVERYONE!! You can take a year to build your site and not spend a dime. They also have a 14 day money back guarantee on their premium packages. You have 2 FULL WEEKS to decide if you don't like their service. You simply cancel and you get a full refund.
Yeah, there are some downfalls. The image organization isn't great and the sites can load a little slow, but it's really not that big of a deal, because once it loads... IT'S AMAZING!
I regret that I did not start using the Wix builder a year ago!

Ive just spent best part of a week sorting a page for my crafts. Its so buggy that it wont allow me to change payment options to Pounds. On top of this the pages are real slow to open. Oh well looks like that's a week of my life down the pan. I aint gonna use or upgrade now.. forget it meh!
Wow, just spent a week loading information for a website, decided to read reviews,
Really? not sure what to do, Take the chance? or start over with another website?
Really was easy to structure the website with wix, lots of great features i really like,
Not completely done with the site but not sure i want to invest the time to continue with out testing what i have done, should i try it our for a month and see how it goes with what I have done, or with the reviews, should i just go elsewhere?
Got 4 stars because of the easy use, this is before i loaded to web, that might change as per all the reviews.
Hey Wix,
You can't add your own elements and or import your ideas or web elements into html5. it's like potato soup in some parts when the majority of site builders have a decent steak dinner to offer.
Wix---is there a way to use the wix domain you have as well as importing design elements of your own in some way? Because so far I've found no such way to do that which is hellish limiting in html5.
I know about the html feature but does it take anything I make in say Adobe Dreamweaver etc? Nope----can't find that anywhere....
Hmmmm
It's so poor, that it's rude and offensive towards paying customers.
Also, be careful when buying on of the plans, especially if you're from Europe. The prices don't change, but currency does!!! EUR 100 is not USD 100! I helped out a friend and bought a plan from US, but that was all a while back before I ran in the fundamental problems of WIX service.
HTML5 building has not improved one bit since it's launch day, at least not where it actually counts. A bunch of apps have been released, but the fundamentals are still very messed up.
Unfortunately I don't have the time right now to transfer my sites to another service provider, but eventually I will.
Communication is everything, it's the bases of every relationship - love or business.
I love how Wix have been replying to each of these posts, gallantly trying to appear helpful and supportive. Want to know how they really are? Look here: http://www.wix.com/support/forum/html5/editor/wishlist/is-there-a-way-that-i-can-3
This thread started a year ago regarding a problem with their HTML5 site builder. I'm a photographer and chose Wix to host my site. It was the worst decision I ever made. When you have a grid of photos, lets say 100, and you add one more, it appears at the very bottom of the grid. If left there, people may have to click the 'down' or 'more' Icon say 5 times to reach the end of the grid. Of course, I want it to the top so people can see the new photo without having the search for it.
Now, to get photo 101 to the top, you need to click the up arrow next to the photo. This takes it from 101 to 100. Then you need to click on the up arrow again, now it's 99! One more time, now it's 98! But hold on, now you need to drag the slider so you can see the up arrow again. Three more up clicks and it's in position 94, drag the slider and three more clicks, now 91 etc. To put the photo in 1st place will take you the best part of 10 minutes. 10 new photos to add? You'll be clicking for the best part of 90 minutes!! God forbid you want to add say 100 photos, you will be doing nothing else all day!!
But that's not even the worst of it!! I wrote to them, explaining how stupid and time consuming this was and asked for a very simple fix: please either make new photos go straight to the top or have a down arrow on the last position - so click the down arrow on photo 101 and it takes it to position 1 with a single mouse click. Simple. I thought this would happen quickly since it takes maybe 1/2 a day of coding at max. Hell, I'll be generous, 1 day at max!
10 months later, nothing, zip, zilch! Yet in that same time, they have released numerous updates, mostly relating to adding social icons to sites no one has ever heard of! 30 pages of requests and not a whistle from them - aside from 'thank you for your vote'. Oh sure, they come on THIS thread and respond to posts with 'sorrys' and 'let me help you'. They want people to think they care - but pay them $150 for a year and spend a huge chunk of your time on the most banal image management system since 1993 and not a squeak, they have your money so you can take a long walk.
They are incapable of providing a deadline, even a vague deadline. Finally, after a ton of pressure, they gave a deadline - mid Jan, then delayed to end Jan. Here in March and nothing. Ask about the missed deadline and you hear crickets whistling! The jerk in charge is a guy called Omer Gartzman. He proudly gave the deadline stating 'I am the project manager' but since the deadline passed getting him to comment is like getting an appointment with the Pope. And while you can call their US number, Omer is hiding under a desk in Israel and that number is never published. Yeah that's right, you can speak to people but you can't ever speak to people who have the power to change things.
Completely and utterly frustrated with such poor service, I cut my losses. I still had 2-3 months paid subscription but I was at the end of my tether (by the way, Wix offer NO refunds). I moved to Squarespace.com and what a difference!!! Full drag and drop image management and REAL customer service. They guarantee that all email questions are answered within 60 minutes and that's a 24/7 service - Squrespace care, they value you as a customer but most importantly, their HTML5 templates are geared for photographers.
So I implore you, do NOT sign up for Wix until you have skimmed the thread below. If nothing else, you will chuckle in disbelief at how a company operating today can provide such abysmal customer service. And if you are in the service industry, you can use this as a perfect 'how not to' case. In short, avoid them like the plague. Even if they fixed the problem today, just remember, this is how they will treat you when YOU next have a problem.

WIX IS BURYING ITS HEAD IN THE SAND
Checkout this thread at WIX:
http://www.wix.com/support/forum/html5/editor/wishlist/is-there-a-way-that-i-can-3
There are some very disgruntled WIX users out there, they are simply asking for answers about WIX's plans to fix their below standard Image Organiser and all they get back is generic "spin" from those at WIX.....not good PR.
UPDATE:
(Re: WIX RESPONSE BELOW)
"If there is anything else we can do for you, please let us know."
I have over 20 premium (paid) sites with WIX and like the many others that have contributed to the 32 page thread above, all we ask for is a time frame to fix this problem instead of the boring generic answers from WIX to date, your generic responses are frustrating and only fuel the anger of your clients.

I just CANT pay them. My premium user is gonna to expire because their site has a problem to accept credit card uses. I've tryied several different cards and any of them worked. They keep saying it is a problem in my bank. Well.. looks like there's a big problem over here, with 3 banks not working problem.. huh! They clearly have a problem and cant fix it and i'm gonna get my site offline because they prevent me to pay. Amusing!
This is a bad website builder for the fact that every time after I save my design and publish it, it will have changed items around or double them up when I log in again. Text appears in a totally different spot, that kind of thing too. Totally frustrating! At first I thought it was my mistake, but then I went thru my site page by page to make sure everything lined up, etc. and low and behold, I opened it up today, and things are all messed up in there AGAIN! It's crazy. Luckily I did not purchase a domain, and I am not going to either, because this is awful.

Follow the topic here, already one CSR janet was helping me and hen a sammy guy fucked up everything again, what is hapening?
I need further assistance.
As others have stated over and over again, Wix is buggy as hell. I created a whole website already for a roller derby team and now I'm worried about the site even loading and working correctly.
#1... Some days your published website will load fast... then an hour later it can sit and not load. Usually you will see your browser waiting on "waiting for static.wix.com". Then they will give the same dead response they give to everyone... clear your cache, history, bla bla bla... it's your fault not ours.
#2... The web editor! I would need 20 people if I wanted to count on hands how many times I've sat with the web editor loading... loading... loading... and it never loads. I've refreshed, cleared cache, closed browser, pounded on my desk, jumped around, gone to the bathroom for a really long time and then came back... still no web editor.
#3... Mobile. I have yet to be able to set up the mobile design for the website I am working on. On all 3 browsers and on my home computer, I get the same message: "Could not load. please try again later." Hey Wix... I did... I really did try again later... many times. It's not my computer, it's not my browser... it's your site.
I am on a nearly new 27" iMac with updated Safari, Firefox, and Chrome. Same results in ALL BROWSERS. Yet the Wix support crew still give myself and all the others the same brain-dead responses... duh... must be your computer/browser.
THE POSITIVE??? Well, WHEN it all works correctly, it really allows you to do most anything as a website designer. The page transitions are a nice modern feature. SEO seems to be pretty good as well. Just be warned, if you are looking to do a site in a timely manner, or have one that a client can go in and edit later... Wix is a toss-up. I know it says it is in Beta right now... but when are they going to fix all these issues already? When I go into their support forums, the same old questions have been being asked for over a year already. FIX IT.

I am a sales person by trade and, even when selling high-tech products, I always needed an engineer to accompany me on calls. So, the idea that I, of all people, could build a website on my own and make it special was ludicrous at best. But, when I came across WIX, I wanted to try and try I did. Within days, I had what people say is one of the best websites they have ever visited! Check it out: www.africahopealliance.org. It has music, fabulous images, connection to Pay Pal and blogging features. Throughout all this, WIX answered every call I have ever placed within minutes, guided me through anything and everything and, if we ran out of time (I think they can only be with anyone customer for about 20 minutes or so), they had me call back and begin afresh with another rep. I REALLY DON'T GET THE FUSS ABOUT WIX NOT delivering what people need. What more could they want? Has anyone ever tried to reach someone from WordPress or Joomla? Any luck? I tried and got nowhere. Plus, I am saving hundreds of dollars from having to pay a website developer from scratch. So what if they ask a small amount a year for a subscription? How else are they going to make money?
I wish that more people would show gratitude toward those who work hard to improve our lives, as I have found most WIX's employees to be.
Thank you WIX Team! You rock!

I upgraded my site to the Premium E-commerce and that was the biggest mistake... Their mobile sites do not have e-commerce option and they have been saying that they are working on adding it for 2 years now. Really, 2 years for something that hundreds of customers are asking about??? Their main excuse is that HTML5 sites display on mobile Devices so try that. Well, after spending days on re-building the look of my website in HTML5, my cart and store look completely messed up (if they display at all) on all mobile devices. On the rest of the browsers, my site loads so extremely slow that I am actually not willing to send any customers there.
I am a Graphic Designer and I have a good concept of images, file size, etc but every time I try to explain the issues to them they are rude and completely unhelpful, the make it sound like it's my fault and their responses take days, if they even respond to your issue. They almost seem like the don't even know what they are talking about and not even reading the issue you have in detail.
Their templates are beautiful, no arguing that but unless you want a personal website, do not use them for anything else. If you want to have a business (e-commerce) web sites stay away from Wix by all means. They are just setting up your web store for failure.
You can forget about calling their 800 #... You will never get through for assistance. You have to post serious issues in the forums and iterally wait days for a response. The website you design using WIX editor loads EXTREMELY slow. They will try to make it seem like it's your fault and no matter how fast your computer performs and what internet speeds you have, your site will run painfully sloooooooooooooooooow. Take your business elsewhere or you'll regret it. WIX is ONLY good for personal use (i.e.:Wedding, make-up artists, resume, etc.).

I wanted to help my mum promote her small flower business, so I decided to make her a website.
WIX came up at the very top when I goggled "create your own web site"
I'd played around with a few other websites but you had to either pay for registration up front, or they where really basic to use.
I found that WIX was the best by far, it’s extremely easy to use, especially if you are looking to start up your own business.
I created the website in a day!!!!!!!!! When I showed it to my mum, she was so impressed.
I was a bit worried at first because I had created such a lovely website but then I stumbled across the reviews, they were all so negative!???
I decided the only way I’d feel more confident about WIX is to give them a call and have them answer all my questions and concerns.
I Called WIX Customer Services- 001-800-600-0949
Spoke to a lovely gentleman called Danny, He was extremely friendly and answered all my questions.
After the phone call I was more than happy to upgrade my account and buy a domain name.
We have only had the site up and running for a couple of weeks now, but it was well worth the money, and it works so perfectly.
Check it out!!! www.janelsflorist.com

I'm sorry but I must edit my review... I was thinking the customer service was better but I'm having some issues with my account that constantly is coming back and constantly the support team answer me to delete cookie blah blah blah and nobody even read what I write, today customer service Uma answered my mail with an answer related to Domains stuffs (hey your domains are fine) without I neither ask anything about that, I neither typed the word domain in my mail... that's really frustrating to have an issue and nobody is able to fix it.... I am with wix since 2007 I love the platform but maybe it's not a product for professional use, I probably won't renew most of the websites on wix and will start to give a chance to squarespace... sorry guys...
I have always loved website design but being completely coding deficient have depended on wysiwig builders - and over the years have tried and used a number of different products. There's a lot of good ones out there but ultimately I felt frustrated because I could never attain the polished look that you can get out of a regular sophisticated coding builder.
I then discovered Wix and I finally found something that is "easy" to use and delivers beautiful results. I say "easy" in quotes because creating an effective website is never easy just like writing a good novel isn't easy. It's easy to get carried away with the bells and whistles and forget to follow the rules for effective web based communications.
It's not perfect by any means - but even if it were perfect I'm sure people would find something to complain about. For me, considering that I simply cannot obtain the quality of design with any other wysiwig builder makes me accept the limitations with patience and understanding.
As far as customer service goes, I have had a terrific experience - There are bugs as the HTML builder which I use is still in beta - so I called the 800 number several times and was always responded to by intelligent and caring reps. I am putting more and more of my customers PRO websites into the WIX platform - I have the confidence that it is going to get better and better over time so I will recommend it wholeheartedly - again, don't expect perfection and accept its limitations.

Unfortunately, I have to do business with this company. I love the customer service at GoDaddy, but their product is simply not comparable. So GoDaddy, PLEASE PLEASE make a product that is as good as or better than Wix so I can come back please. These people can't even send you an email quickly, it takes more than 60 days for admin stuff and they don't seem to be human at all.
nice try but just doesn,t work way to complex nothing saves has you designed it and you get no help at all
I purchased A PREMIUM pkge in July 2012..AT 19.90 per month. in Aug when I tried to edit my site I recvd a message that my site could not be found. Due to a bad injury to my hand I had to back off but since then tried to get support w/ no avail, yet they continue to deduct the money from my acct until Dec whn I tried again (2 day ago) to access my acct I recvd an error mssg that my email was "unregistered"...this is totally unacceptable. I DID get a generic response which was not helpful. I did not even know they had a telephone number until I came to this site. Why is the phn # not advertised on their web site?????
still don't knw what happened to my website or money!!!!!!!
