I've been using Amazon since they were essentially an online bookstore back in the day - and since expanding to sell just about every item available anywhere, the quality of their service if anything has only improved.
I use Amazon all the time, safe in the knowledge that if I'm not happy with anything I buy, I can return it for a refund. It's rare that I've had to however - usually what you order is what you get. And they're very still keen on price.
Amazon sets the bar as to how online retail trading should be done.
Since leaving this review I have received a reply to my email to BuySpares apologising for what's happened and saying they've arranged a refund of the difference between the Next Day and Standard delivery options. In which case I'm happy and felt I should reflect that in this review. New rating 4 stars.

If you order the right part and they have it in stock it'll probably work out - as per the high number of positive reviews on here. If anything goes wrong you'll hit problems as they don't appear to have any "human" customer service operation.
I ordered a £7.49 part yesterday which they did have in stock - but despite selecting Standard Delivery at £2.50 (and confirming the total price as £9.99 via PayPal), when the order confirmation page appeared I was surprised to see they'd selected the Next Day delivery option at £5.99 - so a total price of £13.48. I emailed them immediately - within 2 mins of the order being placed - asking them to change it back to Standard Delivery and refund me the difference as I was in no hurry for the part. No reply whatsoever and I've just had an email from DPD telling me my item will be delivered today.
So yeah they had the part I was after (well done) but it's costing me almost as much to have it sent out as the part itself costs - and I can't stand companies such as this who ignore communication from their customers. So different from the likes of Amazon where you know you'll get satisfaction without any argument if anything goes wrong.
So it's a bit of a gamble. Are you feeling lucky punks, huh, well, are you?
I sold my Samsung Galaxy S2, was offered £195 for it which was about £10-£20 less than the best price I'd seen from competitors - but after reading various reviews about those competitors it soon became clear that the price they quoted wasn't always the price they paid.
Envirofone offer free (pre-paid) Special Delivery if the price they quote is greater than £150 - so I qualified for that. That saved me £5 as I'd never dream of sending something as valuable as a phone by Free Post.
They also guaranteed the £195 by saying that if they decided to reduce the price based on the condition of the phone, I had the option to have the phone returned to me at no cost - some other companies tend to offer significantly less for trivial cosmetic wear & tear, then charge you £6 for returning your phone to you should you decide not to proceed.
I posted my handset back to them on a Saturday morning and received email confirmation on Monday that they'd received it. Within 24 hours they'd confirmed that they'd tested it and issued payment - which hit my bank account on the Thursday.
All in all a fair price and a superb service - trustworthy and efficient in a sector where sadly the same cannot be said for many of their competitors.
After reading some of the reviews of SimplyElectronics.net on TrustPilot and other sites I was a little worried after placing my order for a Panasonic HDC-HS900 - however all I can comment on is my own experience and that was that communication from Vanessa and one or two others at SimplyElectronics couldn't be faulted - emails were replied to almost by return, my order was placed on Thursday 8-December 2011 and the goods arrived on Friday 16th - just 8 days later.
Best of all, the camcorder I ordered was priced at over £100 less than any other online retailler (eBay excepted).
I've used SimplyElectronics once before - to buy a Samsung ST-45 compact digital camera in December 2009 and had a similar experience at that time - delivery took a little longer than some online retaillers but the savings more than made up for it.
