Let's "face" it. Most of the stuff we put on facebook is quite boring, unless you are really interested in peeping into other people's lives, or showing off your own. And it seems a lot of people are - for now.
But where is this leading us? I think many will tire of this fad of writing a diary for the world to read and view, as it becomes so pervasive that we become numb to the information flow.
And what happens to the revealing bits we expose of our lives when we don't want people to remember them? They will still exist in some archive somewhere waiting for a skilled researcher to dig them up and torture us with what we once said we felt or said we did.
The security is not great, the quality is not great, I think the future is not great for these services either. Let's see.
I have had occasion to need some technical services this past year, as we expanded the number of Sky boxes and move things around. Also when weather took away our service.
Most of the time Sky was helpful, punctual and competent.
I think it should be a little less expensive to use Sky HD in multiple rooms in the same home, but I guess competition would drive that down - if there was any. Not in my region yet though, because the cable companies ran out of money before they reached us and the local broadband speed won't yet support HD TV. But it is coming soon enough, and then Sky HD prices will have to fall some more.
I have been with most (or all) of the major mobile service providers. O2 have a way of making me feel special, by proactively informing me of benefits I may be interested in.
Example: I received a call as an iPhone4 user in advance of the iPhone4S release to see if I wanted one on the release date. Very considerate. And it was a local UK call centre and they knew a lot about my usage.
Good work O2! Now about those excessive;ly high roaming charges...
As a true computer expert I get excited looking at the way Overclockers offers higher end equipment - when so many competitors sell underpowered kit.
The problem is - it is too expensive.
And what is the idea of a £5 or £10 reduction for a £399 graphics card as part of a "weekly sale?" Do people really get excited about saving that little money.
Overclockers - keep up the quality but get out there and negotiate some real bargains for us! We want to give you the business, but you have to motivate us to buy NOW - because tomorrow it will be even cheaper AND more powerful.
Let's see a REAL sale every week.

eBay used to be a great marketplace for individuals to buy and sell things in an auction format.
The environment seems now mainly composed of professional storefronts, and the real bargains are gone. Where they went is not clear, but you can easily find yourself dealing with a seller with a rating over 20,000 - in other words, a business. If that is the case, where is eBay's value-add for the Buyer? PayPal makes it safer to transact, but PayPal can now be used many other places on the web.
Almost everything you can buy on eBay you can buy somewhere else cheaper. Don't be lazy - shop around.
For Sellers, I agree it is a great place to locate your items, but for Buyers - beware.
I do not know why I stay with TalkTalk. I was originally with OneTel before they were acquired by this truly insensitive company.
I have had so many TalkTalk calls from India trying to sell me some additional services that I don't need or want and although I consistently tell them never to call back - they still do. Sometimes I get three calls in a week. Once twice in five minutes from two different employees.
TalkTalk is also famous for over-billing, but I believe I have personally escaped that issue so far.
Anyway, they are lucky I am writing this review, because at least it will make me feel better - until they call me again. When they do - they are going to lose my business. I told them they would.
I always used to think that John Lewis was high priced but high quality.
Lately I have been delighted with the fair pricing of their electrionics in particular - with TV's Blu-ray players and the like coming in at the low end but with great extended warranties.
The website works very well, and if there is a problem with the item you can expect excellent customer service.
I highly recommend you consider them next time you have a larger purchase to make.
This company is a logistics genius.
They don't always have the best price, and it is a bit confusing to find so many different descriptions of identical items from different suppliers.
However they are reliable, fast, and trustworthy - which is great if you know exactly what you want and just need an easy way to get it.
Getting better all the time, too.
How does this company stay in business? Who buys there?
100% of the time I have shopped at Maplin, I have found relatively outdated products at double the price of a current product elsewhere.
I have only once made a purchase, and the product (a USB hub) died, was replaced, and then died again out of warranty.
Forget them.
Arrogant, expensive, poor frequent flyer program, even the lounges are deteriorating in many airports.
With all the choice we have, I am flying my family less on BA than ever before.
Once I was a BA Platinum Card holder, but I could never reasonably use any of the frequent flyer miles because of severe limitations on available dates. Plus the terrible policy of charging inflated taxes and surcharges on any "free flight." Avios is a con. I can fly for less on other airlines than if I use my hard earned points to go on BA!
This company is dead if they don't fix their poor customer orientation and stop having strikes.
Dead.
We have had so many problems with our Broadband that BT has had to refund us for several months of poor service. They have been to our house three times this year and replaced the circuit from our house to the local exchange twice.
Poor value, unreliable, slow connection.
The problem is - we have no alternative because even if we changed supplier, the circuit is still BT's.
How about a speed improvement BT?
We buy pizzas from them very frequently, using their simple and helpful website.
Unfortunately, the local store makes pizzas of variable quality - often too few toppings. One pepperoni or one piece of green pepper per slice is just ridiculous!
They are often very slow to deliver too - and we are only 2 miles away.
However if we call and complain they always make it up to us with free replacements or a big discount next time.
C'mon Dominos - get it right the first time!
This used to be a five star company, but lately their prices aren't as competitive.
They have a wide range of products and shipping, though a bit slow, is reliable.
Easy to use website.
I'm always concerned about trying a company for the first time, but have been delighted with Mr Memory.
I found their website easy to use, the prices very competitive, and I had the right product in my hands very quickly.
I can recommend them highly.
