Just Eat

Just eat:too busy your order rejected Me:wtf is this all about anyways

I recently wrote a review about just eat and 'refused' orders as i have had a few orders in the past that were declined because i live too far from the takeaway.

It seems that takeaways can also refuse orders if they are too busy even though your card payment seems to have gone through i am not talking about the issue of the card payment i know that its a pending transaction and i will be refunded if the order is not successfull.

However i can understand how people using the service can get annoyed with this pay now see what happens approach but i can see that it is the fastest way to order when your order goes through and to be fair 98% of the time it does.

I also want to share some insight into those orders you place before the takeaway is closing and you are told that it is going to be delivered the following day i have almost had orders from two different takeaways because the first order was placed for the same night but went through for the next day so i ordered from the second and then got a call from just eat and cancelled the first one.

So what have i learned regarding using just eats service and how can i avoid refused orders the ones that are too far and too busy? or those orders that go through for the next day when you want them the same night

Just eat do not offer a how to use guide so here is what i have found and i hope it helps you save time and frustration and having to eat two orders when you wanted one (ok if its free-he,he)

How to avoid refused orders 'too far'

1.Use google maps to check that you are within a reasonable distance from the takeaway (tip:usually within 3 miles)
2.To save time doing this in the comments section when placing order say that you are happy to pay an extra £1 per mile
up to a maximum of £3 if you live over 3 miles i.e if you live 6 miles away you are paying an extra £3 for the extra 3 miles

How to avoid refused orders 'too busy'

1.In the comments section of your order say that you are happy to wait i.e 1 hr or give a specific time 'i would like this order no later than ...

2.Order your takeaway at least 1hr before you want it

How to avoid orders going through the next day

1.Order at least 1 hr before the takeaway closes
2.In the comments section say that it is for the same night not the next day

How to avoid your order going through as a collection rather than delivery

Takeayways closing times on just eats website are or should be the same as the closing time at the actual takeaway which makes sense but some takeaways will close earlier for deliveries and stay open later for collections and if this wasnt confusing enough
they may close 30 minutes before on the website than in the actual takeaway but because they are still open for collection
this is the time you may see displayed if this doesnt make sense i apologise i'm still confused myself. To be safe just order
at least 1 hr before the closing time displayed on the wesbite

me:hope this was a helpful 'review' if you have found it useful please leave some comments or reply i see a lot of hangryness (get it hunger+anger=hangry) directed at just eat i think
just eat provides a great service and they have been really friendly and helpful in resolving my complaints who else has over 400k fb'likes'?

Message for just eat:I am on FB and comment on your page it would be nice if you could give some voucher codes to people
who read this review and find it useful to thank them for being great customers and for being patient

PEACE!

Just Eat Cure For Refused Orders

I have been using Just Eat for a while now and as a regular user i just wanted to share some information which i think may be useful, regarding 'refused' or 'rejected' orders. If you have not had a 'refused' order you are lucky it is very anoying when you type in the first part of your postcode, get a list of takeaways place an order and a few minutes later you get a message from the takeaway to say your order was rejected and your payment has been ring fenced by your bank and you have to wait 7 days frustrating isn't it? whats that all about? the clue to this riddle is actually on their website 'FIRST HALF OF YOUR POSTCODE' most takeaways on just eat seem to only deliver within 3 miles so after typing in the 'first half' of your postcode dont expect that the list of takeaways presented will deliver to you.To avoid the curse of the 'refused' order and wasting your time use online maps to check if you are within 3 miles of that takeaway. Some takeaways will deliver over 3 miles i have even recieved an order from a takeaway over 3 miles away and a week later it was 'refused' !! i have even had a call from just eat to say that the takeaway can deliver if i pay extra for the mileage i dont mind paying a bit extra to ensure my order is not 'refused' and that i get the food i want and to save time i now include some comments for the takeaway 'dont reject this order i will pay an extra £1 per mile upto a maximum £3 cash to your driver if i live over 3 miles away' i have found this to be the most efficient and hassle free way of ordering ..hope this helps

Antwoord van Just-Eat.co.uk

Hi Justin,

I am sorry to hear that you have had orders refused by the restaurant. We do allow restaurants to decline an order if they feel it is to far or they are to busy.

We are always looking for ways to improve our service and we are currently looking at a way to include the last part of the postcode to make the delivery areas more accurate and reduce the number of refused orders.

If you are unsure whether or not a restaurant will deliver to you, you can contact our customer service team on 0844 243 7777 or using our online Live Chat service and we will be happy to help.

I apologise for any inconvenience this has caused you, your feedback is important to us, thank you for taking the time to leave a review.

Kind Regards,
James
